Fan Voting: Gustavus Male and Female Athletes of the Decade 2010-19

SAINT PETER, Minn. – The past decade has produced a wealth of exceptional Golden Gustie student-athletes and throughout the upcoming weeks, fans will have the opportunity to vote for the Gustavus Male and Female Athletes of the Decade for 2010-19. The men’s bracket features 28 athletes, while the women’s bracket features 24 athletes from the 2010-19 era.

First round voting begins Wednesday and will run throughout the week (left side of each bracket starts at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday and the right side of each bracket starts at 10:30 a.m. Thursday). Fans can vote through polls on the Gustavus Athletics social media channels here:

Each head-to-head poll will last 48 hours with the athlete garnering the most votes advancing to the next round until the men’s and women’s champions are crowned.

Below you will find brief summaries of each athlete’s accomplishments.

Jeffrey Dubose `14 – Football

Nolan Larson `21 – Swim & Dive

Michael Veldman `21 – Football

  • Only quarterback in program history with three 400-yard passing games

Mya Smith-Dennis `14 – Tennis

Grant Soderberg `15 – Baseball

Nora Holtan `19 – Volleyball

  • Gustavus record holder in career assists (4,528), only player in program history with at least 4,000 assists, 1,000 digs, and 500 kills

Jennifer Strom `15 – Swim & Dive

Taylor Drenttel `12 – Golf

Miranda Rice`18 – Basketball

Mikayla Miller `18 – Basketball

  • Ranks second in program history in three-pointers (204-549), free throws made (336), assists (383), and is fourth with 110 games played

Erica Power `18 – Hockey
