Men’s Golf Finishes Second at Twin Cities Classic

The Gustavus men's golf team wrapped up its fall season with a second place finish at its own Twin Cities Classic. The Gusties tied for second place with Saint John's and finished behind champion UW-Eau Claire. Clayton Johnson led the Gusties with by placing 7th individually.

Saint John’s Claims MIAC Golf Title, Gustavus Finishes Second

The Saint John's University men's golf team claimed its second consecutive MIAC Championship with a 36-hole total of 301-295--596. The Johnnies finished 11 strokes ahead of second place Gustavus which posted a total of 308-299--607. Freshman Joe Daly of Saint John's claimed medalist honors with a 36-hole total of 73-69--142 (-2).

Saint John’s Leads After Day One of MIAC Men’s Golf Championships

Defending champion Saint John's holds a two-stroke lead over Concordia following the first round of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championships. The Johnnies fired a 13-over-par 301 on the par-72 layout at Bunker Hills Golf course in Coon Rapids, Minn. Cobber sophomore Drew Dvorak carded the low round of the day with an even-par 72. He leads Johnnie freshman Joe Daly by one stroke. Play concludes Sunday with another 18 holes.

Men’s Golf Hosting MIAC Championship This Weekend at Bunker Hills

The 2005 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championship will take place this Saturday and Sunday at Bunker Hills Golf Course in Coon Rapids, Minn. Defending champion Saint John's is among a group of five teams that are expected to contend for the title. Joining the Johnnies in the title chase will be Augsburg, Concordia, Gustavus, and St. Thomas.

Men’s Golf Second After Day One of UW-Eau Claire Tourney

The Gustavus men's golf team fired a first-round 294 and finds itself in second place after the first round of the Frank Wrigglesworth Blugold Collegiate. The UW-Eau Claire Gold team leads the tournament after a first-round 288, while the regular Eau Claire squad sits in third place, one stroke behind the Gusties. Senior Clayton Johnson (Anoka, Minn.) is the highest placed Gustie individually, in fourth place after an even-par 71. Play concludes with 18 holes on Monday.

Men’s Golf Fourth at UW-Eau Claire

The Gustavus men's golf team fired a second-round 309 to finish with a fourth place team score of 294-309--603 at the Frank Wrigglesworth Blugold Collegiate hosted by UW-Eau Claire. The host Blugolds took the top two spots with Luther finishing third, just one stroke ahead of the Gusties. Sophomore Jordan Hawkinson (Lindstrom, Minn.) carded the low score for Gustavus with a 36-hole total of 73-74--147, finishing sixth.

Men’s Golf Team Wins St. Thomas Invitational

The Gustavus men's golf team opened its 2005 fall season with a first place finish at the 10-team St. Thomas Invitational. The 36-hole tournament was played at Willinger's Golf Club and Hillcrest Country Club. The Gusties fired a team score of 310-292-602 to finish one stroke ahead of Winona State at 315-288-603. Clayton Johnson led the Gusties individually as he placed fifth with a score of 77-71-148.

Men’s Golf Coach Scott Moe Helps U.S. Junior National Team to Toyota World Junior Cup Title

Gustavus men's golf coach Scott Moe directed the U.S. Junior National Team to its second consecutive Toyota World Junior Cup title in Toyota City, Japan. The U.S. team claimed first place by 12 shots over second place Colombia. The Americans posted a 72-hole total of 824 which was 40 shots under par.

Gustavus men's golf coach Scott Moe is in Toyota City, Japan coaching the U.S. Junior Boys' National Team at the Toyota World Junior Cup. The tournament begins Tuesday and runs through Friday. Follow Scott's experiences through his journal on this page.

Men’s Golf Finishes 18th at NCAA Championships

The Gustavus men's golf team finished 18th at the NCAA Championships held at Mission Inn Golf Club in Howie-In-The-Hills, Florida. The Gusties were led by freshman Mark Stuckey who placed 24th out of 120 competitors.
