Men’s Golf Finishes Second at Twin Cities Classic Posted on October 10th, 2005 by

The UW-Eau Claire men’s golf team posted an impressive 54-hole total of 300-297-295–892 to win the Gustavus Twin Cities Classic by 15 strokes over host Gustavus and Saint John’s. The Blugolds pulled away from the field on the final day with a team total of 295 which was 12 shots better than the second best team score of the day (307 by Gustavus and Nebraska Wesleyan).

Individually, Cole Reiman of Central and Mike Greer of UW-Eau Claire posted 54-hole totals of 220. Reiman claimed medalist honors in a playoff. The tournament was played on three different courses with Saturday’s round taking place at Elk River Country Club, Sunday’s being played at the Links at Northfork and Sunday’s round taking place at Minnesota Valley Golf Club.

Gustavus was led by Clayton Johnson who finished 7th with a 54-hole total of 72-75-77–224. Other Gustie finishers included Mark Stuckey in 14th place (75-79-73–227), Nicholas Greve in 26th place (78-75-78–231), Erik Tone in 26th place (71-73-87–231), Kyle Rohlfs in 32nd place (73-76-84–233), Jon Hagedorn in 48th (83-77-77–237), Eric Harris in 48th (79-76-82–237, and Jordan Hawkinson in 48th (78-79-80–237).
