The Gustavus men’s golf team fired a second-round 309 to finish with a fourth place team score of 294-309–603 at the Frank Wrigglesworth Blugold Collegiate hosted by UW-Eau Claire. The host Blugolds took the top two spots with Luther finishing third, just one stroke ahead of the Gusties.
Sophomore Jordan Hawkinson (Lindstrom, Minn.) carded the low score for Gustavus with a 36-hole total of 73-74–147, finishing sixth. Senior Clayton Johnson (Anoka, Minn.) and sophomore Mark Stuckey (St. Peter, Minn.) also picked up top-20 finishes for the Gusties. Johnson finished with a 36-hole total of 71-80–151 to finish tied for 14th place. Stuckey shot a 72-80–152 to finish tied for 19th place.
The Gusties will host the MIAC Championships this weekend at Bunker Hills Golf Course in Coon Rapids.
