The Gustavus men’s golf team fired a first-round 294 and finds itself in second place after the first round of the Frank Wrigglesworth Blugold Collegiate. The UW-Eau Claire Gold team leads the tournament after a first-round 288, while the regular Eau Claire squad sits in third place, one stroke behind the Gusties.

Senior Clayton Johnson (Anoka, Minn.) is the highest placed Gustie individually, in fourth place after an even-par 71. Sophomore Mark Stuckey (St. Peter, Minn.) is tied for fifth after a 1-over-par 72, while Jordan Hawkinson (Lindstrom, Minn.) is tied for eighth following a 2-over-par 73.

Play concludes at the Eau Claire Golf and Country Club with 18 holes on Monday.
