Men’s Basketball Falls to St. Olaf 57-54

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The Gustavus men’s basketball team traveled to St. Olaf on Tuesday night where they took a 57-54 loss to the Oles. With the loss the Gusties fall to 2-3 overall and 1-1 in the MIAC.

Football Earns Eight First Team All-Conference Honors, Jakes Wins Stam Award

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced its football postseason honors on Tuesday afternoon and 16 Gusties earned recognition. Senior defensive lineman Zach Jakes (Mankato) highlighted the honors for Gustavus by being voted the recipient of the Mike Stam Award, given the to Lineman of the Year.

Ripken, Witte Named MIAC Swim & Dive Athletes of the Week

Gustavus swimmers Kieran Ripken (So., Blaine) and Mikayla Witte (Fy., Glencoe) were named MIAC Swimming & Diving Athletes of the Week for their performances at the Grace Goblirsch Invite on Saturday. 

Swim & Dive Wins Grace Goblirsch Invite Convincingly

SAINT PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus men’s and women’s swim & dive teams both handily won the Grace Goblirsch Invite on Saturday at Vic Gustafson Pool. The women totaled 1,641.5 points while the men tallied 1,537 points. Macalester took second place for the women's team with 535.5 points while the Morningside men's team also finished in second with a score of 732. Concordia, Hamline, and Augsburg also competed.

Men’s Basketball Has Strong Second Half in 71-67 Win Over Bethel

The Gustavus men’s basketball team opened conference play Saturday with 71-67 win over the Bethel Royals. With the victory, the Gusties improve to 2-2 overall and 1-0 in the MIAC.

The Gustavus women’s basketball team opened MIAC play Saturday afternoon with a 53-42 road victory at Bethel, improving to 2-1 overall.

Stumbo Finishes 109th at NCAA Championships

Andrew Stumbo (Sr., Boone, Iowa) capped his Gustavus cross country career Saturday at the NCAA Championships, taking 109th place out of 289 runners with a time of 24:55.5. Stumbo's time today was his personal best and third fastest 8k time in program history, just seven seconds behind Bob Klindworth's mark of 24:48 in 1991.

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - The men's hockey team traveled to Bethel for a Friday night contest and suffered a 5-2 loss, moving to 2-5 overall and 0-1 in the conference.

Stumbo Set to Compete at NCAA Cross Country Championships

Gustavus senior cross country runner Andrew Stumbo (Boone, Iowa) is set to culminate his collegiate cross country career Saturday at the NCAA Division III Championships. The race is held at E.P. Tom Sawyer Park in Louisville, Ky. and starts at 10 a.m. CST Saturday.
