Men’s Swimming and Diving In Sixth Place After Second Day of NCAA Championships

The Gustavus men's swimming and diving team dropped one spot to sixth place after the second day of the NCAA Division III Championships which are being held at the University of Houston. Matt Stewart once again turned in the top performance for the Gusties as he finished second in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:39.21.

Men’s and Women’s Swimming Teams Holding Down Top Spots After First Day of MIAC Championships

The Gustavus men's and women's swimming and diving teams are both in first place after the first day of the MIAC Championships which are being held at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center. The men's team claimed three event titles, while the women posted two. The meet will continue on Friday before wrapping up on Saturday.

Matt Stewart Named SwimmingWorldmagazine.com National Swimmer of the Week

Gustavus sophomore Matt Stewart has been named SwimmingWorldmagazine.com National Swimmer of the Week. SwimmingWorldmagazine.com takes the Division I, Division II, and Division III Swimmers of the Week chosen by Collegeswimming.com and selects one male and female Collegiate Swimmer of the Week. Stewart is the first Gustavus swimmer ever to have been selected as the National All-Division Swimmer of the Week.

Men’s Swimming Closes Out Regular Season with Dual Meet Win Against UW-Stevens Point

The Gustavus men's swimming and diving team closed out its regular season schedule by defeating UW-Stevens Point 169.5 to 148.5 in the Lund Natatorium in St. Peter, Minn. The Gusties swam extremely well winning nine of the 17 events and setting six new pool records. Matt Stewart led the way as he won the 200 fly, the 500 free, and the 200 individual medley setting three pool records in the process.

Men’s Swimming Claims Dual Meet Win Over Carleton 195-103

The Gustavus Adolphus College men's swimming team posted a 195-103 dual meet win over Carleton on Saturday afternoon in St. Peter, Minn. The Gusties, who claimed eight individual event titles and two relays, were led by Matt Stewart, Scott Hagemeyer, and Connor Ziegler, who all picked up two individual event titles.

Matt Stewart Named MIAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week

Gustavus sophomore Matt Stewart (Burnsville, Minn./Apple Valley) has been named MIAC Swimmer of the Week for his efforts in helping the Gusties to a second place finish at the UW-Stevens Point Invitational. Stewart won both the 500 freestyle (4:41.28) and the 200 Butterfly (1:54.51) and he was also a part of two winning relays, the 400 free relay and the 800 free relay.

Men’s Swimming Finishes Second at UW-Stevens Point Invitational

The Gustavus men's swimming team finished second at the seven-team UW-Stevens Point Invitational which finished up Saturday evening. The Gusties were edged out for the title by UW-La Crosse in the final event of the meet. UW-La Crosse totalled 807.5 points, while Gustavus finished with 799.

The Gustavus men's swimming team is in first place after the first day of the UW-Stevens Point Invitational. The Gusties were led by sophomore Matt Stewart who picked up first place finishes in the 500 freestyle and the 200 butterfly. The meet will conclude on Saturday afternoon.

Men’s Swimming Finishes First at St. John’s/St. Ben’s Winter Invitational

The Gustavus men's swimming team turned in an impressive performance in Collegeville, Minn. on Saturday winning the St. John's/St. Ben's Winter Invite in convincing fashion. The Gusties totalled 1,094 points to finish well ahead of the rest of the field including St. John's (756), St. Thomas (432), and Hamline (239). The Gusties won eight individual event titles and all three relay titles. Sophomore Matt Stewart won the 200 free and 200 fly, while Brian Amundson won the 50 free and 100 free.
