Women’s Golf Tied For Fifth Place After First Day Of NCAA Championships
The Gustavus women's golf team is in a three-way tie for fifth place after the first day of the NCAA Division III Championships which are being held at the PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida. The Gusties were sparked by the play of Kali Griggs, who fired a five-over par round of 77. Gustavus, which shot a first round team score of 322 trails first place University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, which shot a 312, by 10 shots.
Cole Carlson Wins 400 Meters To Highlight Men’s Track and Field Performance At MIAC Championships
Junior Cole Carlson won the 400 meter dash with a NCAA provisional school record time of 48.03 to help the Gustavus men's track and field team finish in seventh place with 65.5 points at the MIAC Championships hosted by Carleton College. Senior Tyler Geyen earned second in the 110 meter hurdles with a NCAA provisional time of 14.50 and fifth in the javelin at a distance of 172 feet, 7 inches. St. Thomas claimed the team championship with 182 points, while Saint John's finished second with 125 points.
Volleyball Finishes 2-0 After First Day of Border Battle
The Gustavus volleyball team posted a 2-0 record after defeating both Luther College and Buena Vista University 3-1 on the first day of the MIAC-IIAC Border Battle in Mount Vernon, Iowa. The 21st-ranked Gusties improved their overall record to 18-3 with the victories. Head coach Kari Eckheart's squad will wrap up the Border Battle against Cornell College and the University of Dubuque on Saturday.
Volleyball Remains Undefeated After First Day Of Gustavus Classic
The Gustavus volleyball team recorded wins over Martin Luther College and 20th-ranked UW-La Crosse during the first day of the Gustavus Classic in St. Peter on Friday. The Gusties swept Martin Luther 3-0 (25-14, 26-24, 25-16) in their first match and overcame a slow start to upset UW-La Crosse by the scores of 14-25, 25-23, 25-18, 25-14. Gustavus, which improved to 6-0 this season, will face the College of St. Scholastica and Viterbo University on Saturday in St. Peter.

Macalester And St. Olaf Advance To Semifinals Of MIAC Women’s Tennis Semifinals
The third-seed Macalester Scots and the fifth-seed St. Olaf Oles advanced to the semifinal round of the MIAC Women's Tennis Playoffs on Friday at the Swanson Tennis Center in St. Peter. The Scots defeated the sixth-seed Carleton Knights 5-4, while the Oles defeated the fourth-seed Saint Benedict Blazers 5-2.

The Gustavus men's golf team is hosting the third annual Bobby Krig Invitational on Monday, April 21 and Tuesday, April 22. Saint John's is in first place after the first day with a team score of 286-295--581. Gustavus trails the Johnnies by nine strokes for second place with a score of 292-298--590. Today's first round was played at Le Sueur Country Club and tomorrow's final round will be played at the Ridges at Sand Creek near Jordan, Minn.

The Gustavus men's golf team will play nine holes at the Wartburg Invitational in Waverly, Iowa on Saturday. The 22-team field will play 27 holes on Sunday to complete both rounds of golf. Due to a shotgun start on Saturday and scores from nine holes , team scores will not be available until Sunday.

The Gustavus women's golf team shot 329 to lead the field of eleven teams after the first day of the Wartburg Invitational at the par-72 Centennial Oaks Golf Course in Waverly, Iowa on Saturday. Wisconsin-Eau Claire finished the day at 335, six strokes behind the Gusties, while Illinois Wesleyan shot 337. Rachel Roberg, who is tied for second place individually, paced Gustavus with a score of 80.
