Women’s Hockey Defeats Augsburg 8-1

The Gustavus women's hockey team scored eight unanswered goals in its 8-1 victory against Augsburg on Friday evening in St. Peter. Melissa Mackley recorded two goals for Gustavus as the Gusties had seven different players score goals. The Auggies jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the opening minutes of the first period but that was the only time Augsburg would light the lamp.

Men’s Basketball Uses Big Second Half to Defeat Augsburg 69-56

Led by five players in double figures, the Gustavus Adolphus men's basketball team outscored Augsburg 42-24 in the second half en route to a 69-56 MIAC win over the Auggies Monday night in Minneapolis. Phil Sowden scored 13 points to lead the Gusties, while Jay Stien added 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Vadnais Scores 1,000th Point as Women’s Basketball Team Defeats Augsburg 72-65

The Gustavus women's basketball team improved to 14-2 on the season and 11-2 in the MIAC by defeating Augsburg 72-65 in Minneapolis on Monday night. It was a big night for junior guard Jess Vadnais as she scored 20 points, including her 1,000th career point with 14:42 left in the second half. Vadnais becomes the eighth player in the history of the women's basketball program to reach the 1,000 point plateau.

Men’s Basketball Hands Augsburg First Loss 84-67

The Gustavus Adolphus men's basketball team moved its record to 2-0 in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with a 84-67 victory over Augsburg Saturday afternoon on Gus Young Court in St. Peter. Trevor Wittwer and Andrew Olson led the Gusties (3-2, 2-0 MIAC) with 21 and 19 points, respectively. The Auggies (3-1, 0-1 MIAC), who suffered their first loss of the year, were led by Femi Solaja with 16 points.

Men’s Soccer Advances to MIAC Finals with 1-0 Win Over Augsburg

The Gustavus men's soccer team defeated Augsburg 1-0 in the semifinals of the MIAC playoffs on Tuesday afternoon in St. Peter. Ryan Beduhn (Jr., St. Cloud, Minn.) scored the game-winning goal in the 48th minute and Gustavus held on over the next 42 minutes for the win. Augsburg's season comes to an end with an overall record of 13-3-3. Gustavus improves its record to 16-2-1 overall.

Football Holds on for 41-27 Victory over Augsburg in Final Game at Gustavus Stadium

The Gustavus Adolphus football team closed out Gustavus Stadium with a 41-27 victory over Augsburg Saturday in the final game to be played on the site. The Gusties led 34-0, but the Auggies scored four straight possessions in the second half to cut the lead to 34-27 before Jordan Stolp connected with high school teammate Tom Johnson on a 10-yard touchdown strike with 3:22 to play. Gustavus improves to 4-4 on the season, 2-4 in the MIAC, while Augsburg drops to 0-8 overall, 0-6 in the league.

Football to Host Augsburg in Final Game at Gustavus Stadium

The Gustavus Adolphus football team welcomes Augsburg College to Lloyd Hollingsworth Field Saturday for a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matchup. Saturday's game, the season's home finale, also marks the final game ever at the current Hollingsworth Field. The Gusties enter the game with a record of 3-4 overall, 1-4 in the MIAC, while Augsburg enters with a mark of 0-7 overall and 0-5 in the MIAC.

The Gustavus women's soccer team won its third consecutive conference match on Wednesday afternoon with a 1-0 victory over Augsburg. Becca Hagen (Fy., Minneapolis, Minn.) scored the lone goal of the game and Christy Tupy (So., Eagan, Minn.) was credited with the assist. The Gusties improve to 7-8-2 overall and 4-4-2 in the MIAC while the Auggies fall to 9-5-2 on the season and 6-3-1 in the conference.

Men’s Golf Finishes Third at Augsburg Invitational

In its first competition of the fall, the Gustavus men's golf team place two teams in the top five Sunday at the Augsburg Invitational at Minnesota Dunes Golf Course in Cottage Grove. The Gold team finished third with a score of 300-304--604, while the Black team finished fifth with a score of 316-303--619. Juniors Jordan Hawkinson (Gustavus Gold) and Eric Harris (Gustavus Black) each tied for eighth with a 36-hole total of 149 to rank as the top Gusties on the medalist leaderboard.

Men’s Golf Second After First Round of Augsburg Invitational

The Gustavus Adolphus men's golf team placed two individuals in the top three on the leaderboard and finds itself in second place headed into Sunday's final round of the Augsburg Invitational. The host Auggies lead the Gusties 297-300, while Mark Stuckey (Jr., St. Peter, Minn.) is second individually with a 71. Jordan Hawkinson (Jr., Lindstrom, Minn.) is tied for third after posting a round of even-par 72.
