Men’s Golf Team Wins MIAC Title

The Gustavus men’s golf team claimed its second consecutive MIAC Championship at Bunker Hills Golf Course in Coon Rapids, Minn. The Gusties, who were three shots behind St. Thomas after the first day, finished 14 strokes ahead of second place St. John’s.

The men’s golf team fired a 54-hole total of 294-318-300-912 to finish second to St. John’s at the Twin Cities Invitional hosted by Gustavus. Kyle Frederickson of St. John’s won the individual title in a playoff. The Gusties Neil Johnson finished fourth.

Central College holds the lead at the Twin Cities Classic after 36 holes of the 54-hole tournament. The Dutchmen hold a one-shot lead over St. John’s. UW-Eau Claire is third and Gustavus is fourth. The tournament concludes on Monday.
