Gymnastics Tallies 181.950 In Dual Loss To UW-Eau Claire

The Gustavus gymnastics team competed in its final home dual meet of the season at Sponberg Gymnastics Studio on Friday night, coming away with a 183.875-181.950 loss to UW-Eau Claire. The loss drops the Gusties to 2-5 in WIAC duals, while the Blugolds improve to 3-0.

Five-Goal First Period Propels Women’s Hockey Past Hamline 9-3

Heading into this weekend's series with Hamline University, the Gustavus Adolphus College women's hockey team needed at least one win and help from the Cardinals of Saint Mary's University. Friday was a good start on both fronts, as the Gusties used a five-goal first period to eventually take a 9-3 victory over the Pipers, and Saint Mary's fell to St. Catherine University by a 4-2 final. With those results, Gustavus moves into the fifth and final playoff spot with 19 points and an MIAC record of 8-6-3, one point ahead of the Cardinals who fell to 8-7-2. Going into tomorrow's final regular season game, the Gusties now know they can clinch a playoff spot with a win over Hamline at Don Roberts Ice Rink.

Gymnastics Hosts UW-Eau Claire Tonight In Final Home Meet

The Gustavus gymnastics team is set to host the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire at 6:30 p.m. tonight in a WIAC dual meet. The Gusties are 2-4 in duals this season, while the Blugolds are 2-0.

Athletic Department Hosts Special Olympics Aquatics And Basketball Competitions In February

The Gustavus Adolphus Athletic Department concluded the Special Olympics winter season by hosting back-to-back area competitions on consecutive weekends in February. On Sunday, Feb. 7, Gustavus hosted the Area 9 aquatics competition at the Vic Gustafson Pool and on Sunday, Feb. 14, it held the Area 9 basketball tournament in the Lund Center Forum.

Women’s Hockey Enters Final Series Vs. Hamline With Playoffs At Stake

With a playoff berth on the line, the Gustavus Adolphus College women’s hockey team is set to compete in its final regular season series this weekend against Hamline University. The Gusties travel to Oscar Johnson Arena in St. Paul on Friday for a 7 p.m. game with the Pipers, and host Saturday’s regular season finale at Don Roberts Ice Rink at 2 p.m. Gustavus enters the series at 7-6-3 in the MIAC, while Hamline comes in at 6-9-1 in the league.

Playoff Berth On The Line As Men’s Hockey Squares Off Against Hamline

It all comes down to the final weekend of the regular season. The Gustavus men’s hockey team is playing for the fifth and final spot in the MIAC Playoffs in a home-away series against Hamline University this weekend. Both teams are tied with 17 points in the league standings, but the Gusties hold the current tiebreaker with a higher winning percentage. Gustavus is 5-7-2 (.429) in the MIAC, while the Pipers are 5-8-1 (.393) in the league. Both teams are trying to catch St. Olaf (19 points), which is in position to fill the final playoff slot. The Oles face St. Thomas this weekend to determine their playoff fate.

Men’s Swim & Dive In Fourth Place After Day One At MIAC Championships

The Gustavus Adolphus College men’s swim and dive team is currently in fourth place with 147 points after day one of competition at the MIAC Championships on Thursday at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center. The Gusties trail by three points behind Carleton and three-and-a-half points behind St. Olaf, while St. Thomas leads with 283.5 points.

Women’s Swim & Dive In Second Place After First Day Of MIAC Championships

The Gustavus Adophus College women’s swim and dive team completed its first day of competition at the MIAC Championships at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center on Thursday evening. The Gusties ended the session with 223 points putting them in second place behind St. Thomas with 226 points. Hayley Booher highlighted the night with a new MIAC record in the 200 IM.

Retribution: Women’s Basketball Earns 52-51 Win Over Saint Benedict

After suffering a 70-61 overtime loss to the College of Saint Benedict in St. Peter on Jan. 20, the Gustavus Adolphus College women's basketball team headed to Saint Joseph on Wednesday evening seeking a little bit of payback. The Gusties got their wish, holding the Blazers scoreless for the final 2:06 of the game to earn a 52-51 victory at Claire Lynch Hall.
