Darren Lapic and Gavin Tufte will be honored Friday on Senior Night against the Pipers.

ST. PETER, Minn. – It all comes down to the final weekend of the regular season. The Gustavus men’s hockey team is playing for the fifth and final spot in the MIAC Playoffs in a home-away series against Hamline University this weekend. Both teams are tied with 17 points in the league standings, but the Gusties hold the current tiebreaker with a higher winning percentage. Gustavus is 5-7-2 (.429) in the MIAC, while the Pipers are 5-8-1 (.393) in the league. Both teams are trying to catch St. Olaf (19 points), which is in position to fill the final playoff slot. The Oles face St. Thomas this weekend to determine their playoff fate.

Friday’s game between the Gusties and Pipers at Don Roberts Ice Rink begins at 7:05 p.m. and Saturday’s game at Oscar Johnson Arena in St. Paul starts at 7 p.m.
