Women’s Hockey Back In Conference Play This Weekend With Series Vs. St. Kate’s

The Gustavus Adolphus College women’s hockey team returns to conference action this weekend with a home-away series against St. Catherine University on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, the Gusties travel to St. Paul, Minn. for a 7:30 p.m game, and return to St. Peter Saturday afternoon for a 2 p.m. faceoff. Gustavus enters the series with a 3-7-3 overall record, and 2-2-2 mark in the MIAC, while St. Catherine comes in with at 1-9-3 overall and 0-6-0 in the league.

Rice’s Double-Double Leads Women’s Basketball To 74-59 Victory Over St. Catherine

The Gustavus Adolphus College women’s basketball team earned a victory over St. Catherine University 74-59 Wednesday night at Gus Young Court. The game was back and forth in the beginning, but midway through the second quarter, the Gusties took charge defensively and were able to hold the lead for the remainder of the game. The win puts the Gusties at 10-4 overall and 5-2 in the conference.

Women’s Basketball Returns Home, Takes On St. Kate’s Wednesday

The Gustavus Adolphus College women’s basketball team takes on St. Catherine University Wednesday, Jan. 13 at Gus Young Court, with tipoff set for 7 p.m. The Gusties enter the game with a 9-4 overall record and 4-2 mark in the conference, while the Wildcats come to town at 7-5 overall record and 2-4 in the MIAC.

Men’s Basketball Suffers Hard Fought 65-60 Defeat To St. Olaf Despite Second Half Comeback

Despite a second half comeback, the Gustavus men’s basketball team suffered a hard fought 65-60 loss to St. Olaf on Monday night at Gus Young Court. The defeat drops the Gusties to 5-8 overall and 2-6 in the MIAC, while the Oles improve to 8-5 overall, and 6-2 in the league.

Fresh off a convincing victory at Hamline University on Saturday, the Gustavus men's basketball team is set to host St. Olaf College at 7 p.m. tonight. The Gusties enter the game with a 5-7 overall record and 2-5 mark in the MIAC, while the Oles are 7-5 overall and 5-2 in the league.

Men’s Hockey Loses Third Period Lead 5-3 To UW-Stout

The Gustavus men’s hockey team battled back and forth with the University of Wisconsin-Stout for the first two periods Saturday night at Don Roberts Ice Rink and held a one-goal lead, but the Blue Devils rallied for three third period goals, handing the Gusties a 5-3 loss. The Gusties fall to 3-8-2 overall, while the Blue Devils move to 7-4-3.

The Gustavus gymnastics team started its 2016 season with an extremely slim loss to the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh on Saturday afternoon by the score of 176.975-176.250.
