Taylor Drenttel is the current leader of the Wartburg Invite.

Waverly, Iowa – The Gustavus women’s golf team was back on the links Saturday afternoon, competing in the Wartburg Spring Invitational held at the Centennial Oaks Golf Club over the weekend.  The Gusties fired a 318 (+30) and sit in second place after the opening day of competition.  Senior Taylor Drenttel (Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) is the current leader after shooting a 76 (+4) on the first day.

UW-Eau Claire leads the way through 18 holes with a team score of 316 (+28), while St. Olaf sits in third place after shooting a 330 (+42).

Also cracking the top-three after day one for Gustavus was Sam Falk.  Falk is currently in a four-way tie for third place after shooting a 79 (+7).  Ann Jackson ranks inside the top-10 in a three-way tie for seventh place after a round in which she shot an 80 (+8).

Rikka Holiday (83, +11) and Kayleigh Dittes (84, +12) round out Gustavus’ top five in 14th and 18th place, respectively.

Day two of the Wartburg Invitational will be begin with tee times starting at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow morning.
