Men’s Hockey Set To Open MIAC Season Against Bethel This Weekend Posted on November 11th, 2011 by

Zach May enters the weekend as Gustavus' top goal-scorer so far this season. May has three goals and one assist on the year.

The Gustavus men’s hockey team is set to open its 2011-12 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) season against Bethel University this weekend.  The Gusties and Royals will do battle on Friday at 7:05 p.m. in St. Peter, Minn. and Saturday at 7:00 p.m. in Blaine, Minn.

The Gusties enter the weekend with an overall record of 1-1-2 after picking up a 2-2 at St. Norbert last Friday and a 2-1 overtime victory at UW-Stevens Point on Saturday.  Bethel is looking for its first win of the season, entering the series at 0-4-0 after falling to UW-Eau Claire 5-0 last Friday and UW-River Falls 7-5 on Saturday.

Points are on the line for the first time this season as conference play is underway in the MIAC.
