Baseball Team Claims 7-6 Win Over Middlebury

Freshman Tommy Lundquist went 2-for-2 with a double and freshman Kellan Euerle pitched five solid innings to help the Gustavus baseball team defeat Middlebury 7-6 on Wednesday afternoon in Phoeniz, Arizona.

 

Women’s Tennis Concludes FAB 10 Tournament With 7-2 Loss To Williams

The Gustavus women’s tennis team suffered a 7-2 defeat at the hands of #2 Williams College in its final match of the 2011 FAB 10 Tournament held on the campus of Emory University in Atlanta. The Gusties move to 9-7 overall on the season.

Baseball Falls Twice To Thomas – 4-5, 8-9

The Gustavus baseball team was swept by Thomas College on Tuesday afternoon in Phoenix, Arizona. Thomas scored twice in the top of the seventh in game one to beat the Gusties 5-4 and then the Terriers scored the winning run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh to slip past Gustavus 9-8 in game two.

Women’s Tennis Falls 6-0 To Emory

The Gustavus women's tennis team fell 6-0 to Emory University in its third match of the FAB 10 Tournament on Tuesday afternoon in Atlanta. The Gusties fall to 9-6 on the season.

Baseball Drops Two To Oberlin 6-11, 0-2

The Gustavus baseball team fell to 1-4 on its Spring Break Trip to Arizona by dropping two games to Oberlin College of Ohio on Monday afternoon by the scores of 6-11 and 0-2. The Gusties led 6-3 in game one before Oberlin exploded for 8 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to claim the victory. In game two, Oberlin scored once in the first and once in the seventh to sneak past Gustavus 2-0.

Men’s Tennis Falls To #1 Middlebury 8-1

The Gustavus men's tennis team opened its Spring Break Trip to California with an 8-1 loss to top-ranked Middlebury 8-1 in Los Angeles. The Gusties victory came at #5 singles where Marcel Gyswyt defeated James Burke 6-4, 7-6 (5).

Marianne Barau surpassed the 20-win milestone with a pair of victories over the weekend. 

Women’s Tennis Suffers Narrow 5-4 Loss To Middlebury

The Gustavus women’s tennis team suffered a nail-biting 5-4 loss to #12 Middlebury College on Monday afternoon in Atlanta. The Panthers improved to 9-5 overall with the win, while Gustavus falls to 9-5.

Senior defenseman Mitch Carlson has been named an AHCA All-American.

The American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) named Gustavus Adolphus senior defenseman Mitch Carlson to the 2011 Division III Reebok All-American Team on Thursday night in Minneapolis.

2011 Gustavus Baseball Preview

The 2011 Gustavus baseball team will have a lot of new faces battling for playing time due to five field starters and four starting pitchers lost to graduation, however Coach Mike Carroll thinks his young team has good potential and he has been pleased with the dedication and effort the team has put in during the pre-season.
