Men’s Indoor Track & Field Competes In Macalester Pre-MIAC Meet Posted on February 27th, 2010 by

The Gustavus men’s track and field team compiled three individual event wins at the Pre-MIAC Meet held in the Macalester College Fieldhouse on Friday night in St. Paul.  Event wins came from Matt Dvorak, Max Hanson, and John Kennedy.  Dvorak won the 55-meter dash (6.57), Hanson won the 600-yard run (1:12.35), and Kennedy won the one-mile run (4:25.36).  No team scores were kept at the meet.

Kendrick Hall finished in second place behind Dvorak in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 6.68.  Cole Carlson placed second in the 600-yard run (1:13.48) behind Hanson.  Cristian Raether and Jeremy Kuhn also added second place finishes; Raether in the 800-meter run (2:03.17), and Kuhn in the 3000-meter run (2:37:27).  Carson Smith was the other top Gustavus finisher in the track events with a third place finish in the 1000 meter run (2:37.27).  Josh Owens was the top performer in the field events, taking second in the pole vault clearing 13’ 10”.

The Gustavus men’s indoor track and field team will compete at the MIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships held in Northfield, Minn. next weekend starting on Thursday, March 4.
