Kali Griggs finished first individually at the Wartburg Invitational.
The Gustavus women’s golf team posted an impressive first place finish at the 14-team Wartburg Invitational which was held this past weekend in Waverly, Iowa. The Gusties, who are ranked #3 in Div. III finished ahead of three other nationally ranked teams including the University of St. Thomas, Illinois Wesleyan University, and Wartburg College. Individually, Gustavus’ Kali Griggs claimed medalist honors with a 36-hole total of 74-73-147. Teammate Kimbra Kosak finished tied for third at 76-83-159, and Rachel Roberg finished in a tie for sixth at 77-83-160. Griggs’ 36-hole total of 147 was one shot off the school record of 146 posted by Kelli Groff in 2005. The teams’ total of 626 was the third best 36-hole total in the program’s history. The school record is 623 set last year at the UW-Eau Claire Invitational.
