Women’s Golf Finishes Second at NCAA Championship

The Gustavus women's golf team posted a final round 329 to finish with a 72-hole total of 1316 one stroke ahead of DePauw University (1317) in second place at the NCAA Division III Championship in Howie-In-The-Hills, Florida. The second place national finish is the highest the history of the Gustavus women's golf program.

Women’s Golf Remains Third Heading Into Final Round of NCAA Championships

Despite a nearly five-hour lightning delay in the middle of the round, the Gustavus Adolphus women's golf team maintained their third-place position during Thursday's third round of the 2006 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships at the Mission Inn Golf Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida. After their third-round 331, the Gusties have a 56-hole team total of 987, five shots back of DePauw (982) and 12 shots clear of Wartburg (999). Methodist is cruising in first place with a team total of 928.

Women’s Golf Third Following Second Round at NCAA Championships

The Gustavus women's golf team fired a second-round 322 to move into third place at the midway point of the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. With a two-day total of 656, the Gusties sit four shots back of second place DePauw (652) and eight shots clear of fourth place Wartburg (664). Methodist leads after 36 holes with a team score of 615. Rachel Roberg is currently the low Gustie with an 18-hole total of 160.

The Gustavus women's golf team made a strong statement to the NCAA Championship selection committee with a 23-stroke win over second place St. Thomas at the Minnesota Women's Collegiate Golf Association Invitational. The Gusties were led by senior Kelli Groff who finished first with a 36-hole total of 76-73--149.

Senior Kelli Groff's opening round 76 was the top score for Gustavus. The Gusties lead second place St. Thomas by four strokes.

The Gustavus women's golf team took a big step towards earning a berth in the NCAA Championship with a 655-671 win over Wartburg College in a dual meet held at LeSueur Country Club on Friday and Saturday. Kimbra Kosak (79-84) of Gustavus and Megan Cress (82-81) of Wartburg tied for medalist honors.

The Gustavus women's golf team holds an eight shot lead against Wartburg College after the first day of the important dual between the two nationally rated squads. The Gusties fired a first day total of 327, while Wartburg posted a total of 335.

Gustavus senior golfer Kelli Groff was named Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Golfer of the Week after finishing first at the Wartburg Invitational with a 36-hole score of 74-79--153. Groff also helped the Gusties to the team title at the 11-team invitational tournament.

The Gusties posted a 36-hole total of 313-331—644 to finish six shots ahead of host Wartburg at 322-328—650. Gustie senior Kelli Groff claimed medalist honors with a total of 74-79—153.
