Eight Gusties Compete at Chuck Petersen Open
A small group of the Gustavus men’s and women’s indoor track & field teams kicked off the indoor season Saturday at the Chuck Peterson Open & Multi, hosted by Minnesota State-Mankato. Three athletes on the men’s team and five from the women’s squad competed on Saturday with six Gusties setting lifetime bests, four winning their event, and two breaking school records.

Olson-Sola Named Outstanding Field Athlete, Seven More Join on All-MIAC Team
The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its women’s track & field postseason awards Thursday and eight Gustavus student-athletes received recognition. Annalee Olson-Sola (Fy., Northfield, Minn.) was named Outstanding Field Athlete, while Katie Keelin (Jr., Burnsville, Minn.), Bailey Van Den Heuvel (Sr., Mondovi, Wis.), Kourtney Kulseth (So., New Richland, Minn.), Sara Moen (So., Blaine, Minn.), Josie Blake (So., Waukegan, Ill.), Tierney Winter (Jr., Waterville, Minn.), and Abigail Schnabel (Sr., Hamburg, Minn.) earned All-Conference as well.
Women’s Track & Field in Fifth After Day One of MIAC Championships
The Gustavus women’s track & field team sits in fifth place with 29 points after seven events scored Friday at the MIAC Outdoor Championships, hosted by the University of St. Thomas. The Gusties earned two conference titles, while four more advanced to the finals Saturday.
Women’s Track & Field Place First in Four Events at Mustang Open
The Gustavus women’s track & field team competed at the Mustang Open at Mount Mercy University on Saturday as a full team for the first time this outdoor season. Megan Hill, Sara Moen, Tierney Winter, Haley Anderson, Abigail Schnabel, Katie Keelin, and Annalee Olson-Solo all led the Gusties with first place finishes in their respective events.
Track & Field Qualifies Two for NCAA Indoor Championships, Six Earn All-Region Honors
The 2019 NCAA Division III Men's Indoor Track and Field participants were announced on Sunday and Gustavus will be represented by Taylor Rooney (So., Andover, Minn.) and Michael Hensch (Sr., North Branch, Minn.). Rooney will compete in the 60-meter hurdles with a seed time of 8.14 (10th), while Hensch will compete in the shot put with a seed distance of 16.39 meters (15th) and the weight throw with a distance of 18.47 meters (16th).
Women’s Track & Field Takes Fourth at Maverick Invite
The Gustavus women’s track & field team took fourth out of six teams Friday at the Maverick Invite, hosted by Minnesota State University, Mankato.
