MANKATO, Minn. – The Gustavus women’s track & field team took fourth out of six teams Friday at the Maverick Invite, hosted by Minnesota State University, Mankato.

“It was really nice to go against some tough competition in a low-key meet because there were not many teams,” Head Coach Dale Bahr said. “It takes some of the pressure off. Our ladies are putting some things together and we’re happy with the results from this meet.”

Notable top-four performances from the Gusties include:

  1. Tierney Winter – 5:15.26

1000 meters

  1. Josie Blake – 3:05.89

600 meters

  1. Sara Moen – 1:42.18

3000 meters

  1. Sarah Anderson – 11:06.04
  2. Mackinzee Miest – 11:10.65

800 meters

  1. Abigail Schnabel – 2:19.86

“Josie Blake had a lifetime PR and is really setting herself up to perform well at the conference meet,” Bahr said. “Katie Keelin also had a PR and is leading the MIAC in the weight throw.”

The MIAC Championships begin Thursday and go through Saturday.
