Gustavus volleyball saw its unbeaten streak end at five tonight after going 1-1 at the Gustavus Classic. The Gusties defeated Martin Luther 3-0 before losing a 3-2 nail-biter to Nebraska Wesleyan. Seniors Jennifer Thelemann and Andrea Kron put down 31 kills and 29 kills, respectively, during the two matches. Junior Bridget Burtzel contributed 81 assists, while junior Emily Klein amassed 39 digs for the evening.
Women’s Soccer Falls to Nebraska Wesleyan 3-2 in Overtime
Gustavus women's soccer lost to Nebraska Wesleyan 3-2 in overtime Sunday afternoon in St. Peter. The Prairie Wolves didn't hold a lead in the game until scoring the game-winner with just under three minutes to play in overtime. Chelsea Craven scored both of the Gustavus goals but they weren't enough to get the Gusties a win.
Men’s Soccer Wins Third Straight; Downs Nebraska Wesleyan 3-0
Gustavus men's soccer defeated Nebraska Wesleyan 3-0 on Sunday afternoon in St. Peter. The Gusties scored about 11 minutes into the game and never looked back. Matt Broin scored the first and third goals for Gustavus, while Jeffrey Johnson notched the second goal. The Gusties extended their current three-game winning streak and remain undefeated this season with a record of 3-0-1. The Prairie Wolves fall to 1-2-0 on the season.
Men’s Golf Finishes Seventh at NWU Fall Preview
The Gustavus men's golf team compiled a team score of 304-310--614 to finish in seventh place at the 14-team Nebraska Wesleyan Fall Preview. Guilford College, the defending national champion, shot a second-round 293 to win the tournament by seven strokes over Nebraska Wesleyan University. NWU, which had held the first-day lead, shot 306 on day two to finish with a 36-hole total of 598. Tuesday's round was played at Firethorn Golf Club, site of the 2006 NCAA Division III National Championships.

The Gustavus men's golf team fired a team score of 304 Monday and find themselves in sixth place after day one of the Nebraska Wesleyan Fall Preview. The host Prairie Wolves are atop both the team and medalist standings after 18 holes as the team shot a team score of 292 to lead Emory University by four strokes, while Aaron Stockton leads all individuals by three strokes after shooting a first round 68. Gustie senior Clayton Johnson (Anoka, Minn.) is tied for third after carding a 72.

The Gustavus men's soccer team opened its 2003 season with impressive wins over Nebraska Wesleyan (3-2) and Buena Vista (4-0). Both games were played at Nebraska Wesleyan in Lincoln, Nebraska.
