Men’s and Women’s Nordic Skiing Combine To Finish Fifth At NCAA Central Region Championships

The Gustavus men's and women's nordic ski teams turned in strong performances at the NCAA Central Region Championships combining to finish fifth out of 11 teams. The races were held in Houghton, Mich. Kelly Chaudoin led the women's team with a fourth place finish in the 10K freestyle race, while Jens Brabbit led the men's team with a 12th place finish in the 15k freestyle.

Men’s Nordic Ski Team Struggles In 10K Classic Race At Camp Ripley

The Gustavus men's nordic ski team had a rough first day at the Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) 10K Classic race which was held at Camp Ripley near Little Falls, Minn. on Saturday afternoon. The Gusties, who placed eighth out of nine teams at the race, were led by sophomore Jens Brabbit, who finished 22nd (out of 60) with a time of 28:11. The team will take part in the 10K Freestyle race on Sunday.

Eppler, Chaudoin, And Bohn Post Top Twenty Finishes As Women’s Nordic Ski Team Finishes Fourth At Freestyle Race At Camp Ripley

The Gustavus women's nordic ski team finished fourth out of ten teams in the 15K freestyle race at the CCSA Qualifier on Sunday at Camp Ripley near Little Falls, Minn. Erin Eppler led the Gustie contingent with a 12th place finish in a time of 42:45. Kelly Chaudoin finished in 13th place with a time of 42:46, and Allison Bohn posted a 20th place finish in a time of 43:47.

Men’s Nordic Ski Team Finishes Sixth Overall at Telemark SuperTour in Cable, Wisconsin

The Gustavus men's nordic ski team finished sixth overall (out of nine teams) at the Telemark SuperTour race in Cable, Wisconsin last Saturday and Sunday. The Gusties were led by sophomore Jens Brabbit who finished ninth in the 10k classic race on Saturday and sixth in the 15k freestyle race on Sunday.

The men's and women's nordic ski teams are taking part in a NCAA Qualifier Meet that will include a classic race on Saturday and a freestyle race on Sunday in Coleraine, Minn. The Gusties were led by Kelly Chaudoin, who finished sixth among college women and Jens Brabbit, who placed 10th among the college men. Erin Eppler also posted a top 20 finish for the women, which is the best of her collegiate career.

Jens Brabbit Leads Nordic Ski Team At Weather Shortened U.S. National Cross Country Skiing Championships

Gustavus sophomore Jens Brabbit recorded an impressive 54th place finish in the 10k freestyle race (27:41) at the U.S. National Cross Country Skiing Championships being held in Anchorage, Alaska. In a field that contained nearly all of the finest amateur skiers in the U.S., Brabbit's finish was the second highest among skiers from the Central Region to cross the finish line and the fifth highest among Division III competitors.

Men’s Nordic Skiing Ends Season With Sixth Place Finish At CCSA Regional Championships

The Gustavus men's nordic ski team finished the season with a sixth place finish with 77 points at the Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) Regional Championships in Biwabik, Minn. on February 16-17. Gustavus finished in sixth place for the sixth time in seven years. Northern Michigan took the team title with 161 points, just past University of Alaska in Fairbanks, which finished with 155 points. The championships consisted of a 10K freestyle race on Saturday and a 15K classic race on Sunday.

Men’s Nordic Skiing Earns Sixth at NCAA Qualifier

The Gustavus men's Nordic ski team earned sixth-place with 109 points at the NCAA Nordic Ski Qualifier in Cable, Wis. on January 26-27. The Gusties finished 72 points behind first-place Northern Michigan University (NMU), which turned in 181 points. Jens Brabbit was the top skier in the 10K freestyle and the 15K classic races as he continued to push for a qualifying spot in the NCAA Championships.

Men’s Nordic Skiing Takes Second Place At Saints Invitational

The Gustavus men's nordic ski team missed first place at the Saints Invitational in Collegeville, Minn. on Sunday afternoon by one point behind the College of St. Scholastica. The Golden Gusties earned 71 points in the 12K Freestyle race, behind 72 points for St. Scholastica. Both schools had three skiers finish in the top eight, but the Saints' third skier finished one place higher than the Gusties' third skier for the team win.

Men’s Nordic Skiing Begins Season With Optimism Saturday

The Gustavus Adolphus Nordic ski team will open its season this weekend at Junior Olympic Qualifying races in Dresser, Wis. Saturday's action will feature a 1-kilometer freestyle sprint race, while Sunday's races will highlight a 1-kilometer classic sprint race. Gustavus starts the season with numerous new faces on a squad that finished sixth at the Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) Regional Championships a year ago.
