Men’s Cross Country Places 28th out of 52 Teams at the Griak Invitational

The Gustavus men's cross country team finished 28th out of 52 teams in a very strong field at the Roy Griak Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities and run at the Les Bolstad Golf Course.

Men’s Cross Country Team Places Eighth at St. Olaf Invitational

The Gustavus men's cross country team finished eighth out of 23 teams at the St. Olaf Invitational in Northfield, Minn. Dan Foley led the Gusties for a second straight week as he finished 40th in a time of 27:56.

Men’s Cross Country Finishes Second at UW-River Falls Invitational

The Gustavus men's cross country team opened its 2006 season with a second place finish at the four team University of River Falls Invitational. The Gusties scored 48 points, while host UW-River Falls finished first with 23 points. Dan Foley finished second individually for Gustavus with a time of 27:08.7 over the 8,000 meter course.

Men’s Cross Country 13th at NCAA Regional

The Gustavus men's cross country team closed out its 2005 season Saturday with a 13th place finish at the NCAA Division III Central Region Championships hosted by Wartburg College. The Gusties accumulated 352 points at the meet, won by Nebraska Wesleyan. The Gusties were led by captain Alex Zupan (Jr., Monona, Wis.) who posted a 20th place finish with a time of 26:19.70.

Men’s Cross Country Claims Pair of Seventh Place Finishes

The Gustavus men's cross country team picked up a pair of seventh place team finishes Saturday at the Dan Huston Invite in Waverly, Iowa. The meet featured both a 4-kilometer and an 8-kilometer race in order to give team's variety and allow more runners to figure into the scoring. The Gusties top finisher in the 8-kilometer race was junior Alex Zupan. Zupan finished tenth in a time of 26:23. Freshman Ryan Brownell was the top finisher in the 4-kilometer race with a 31st place time of 13:15.

Men’s Cross Country Places 25th at Roy Griak Invitational

The Gustavus men's cross country team finished 25th of 43 teams in the Maroon (Division II & III) race at the Roy Griak Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota on Saturday. The Gusties scored 730 points, while UW-La Crosse picked up the team title with a score of 80. Junior Alex Zupan (Monona, Wis.) led the Gusties, traversing the 8-kilometer course with a 73rd-place time of 27:12.

Men’s Cross Country Finishes Eighth at St. Olaf

Alex Zupan finished 23rd overall to lead the Gustavus men's cross country team to an eighth place finish at the St. Olaf Invitational on Saturday. The Gusties amassed 242 total points, while Minnesota State, Mankato took the team title with 57 points. The Mavericks placed three runners in the top ten and two others in the top 25.

Men’s Cross Country Finishes Fourth at SJU Invitational

The Gustavus men's cross country team opened its 2005 season with a fourth place finish (out of 8 teams) at the Saint John's Invitational in Collegeville, Minnesota. The Gusties compiled 119 points, finishing behind meet champion MSU-Mankato, Saint John's and Wartburg. Alex Zupan and Collin Meierbachtol were the highest placed runners for Gustavus. Zupan finished 26th with a time of 28:13, while Meierbachtol finshed 27th, three seconds behind.

Men’s Cross Country Places 14th at NCAA Central Region Meet

The Gustavus men's cross country team placed 14th out of 22 teams at the NCAA Central Region Meet hosted by Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa on Saturday. Senior James Sorenson led the Gusties by placing 45th overall with a time 26:51.
