The Gustavus men’s cross country team picked up a pair of seventh place team finishes Saturday at the Dan Huston Invite in Waverly, Iowa. The meet featured both a 4-kilometer and an 8-kilometer race in order to give team’s variety and allow more runners to figure into the scoring.

UW-Platteville, with three runners in the top ten, took the team title with 48 points. The top Gustavus runner in the 8-kilometer race was junior captain Alex Zupan. Zupan finished tenth in a time of 26:23.

The Gusties scored 192 points to finish six points ahead of eighth-place Grand View College. Freshman Ryan Brownell was the top finisher in the 4-kilometer race for the Gusties with a 31st place time of 13:15.

Gustavus will travel to La Crosse, Wisconsin on Saturday to participate in the UW-La Crosse Invitational.
