Men’s Cross Country Finishes Sixth At MIAC Championships, Dan Foley Places Fifth Individually

Senior Dan Foley turned in one of the strongest performances of his collegiate career and finished fifth individually and helped Gustavus post a sixth place finish at the MIAC Championships which took place at Como Park Golf Course on Saturday afternoon. Foley, who earned All-Conference honors by finishing in the top 15, registered a time of 25:34.65.

Men’s Cross Country Set To Run In MIAC Championships This Weekend

The Gustavus men's cross country team will begin its championship season this weekend with the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Championships which will take place on Saturday at the Como Park Golf Course in St. Paul, Minn. The Gusties will be looking to improve on their fifth place finish from a year ago. The men's race begins at 2 pm.

Men’s Cross Country Team Finishes 15th At Roy Griak Invitational

The Gustavus men's cross country team posted a 15th place finish out of 31 teams at the Roy Griak Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota at the Les Bolstad Golf Course in Minneapolis on Saturday. Dan Foley led the Gustie contingent as he finished 25th individually with a time of 26:30 on the 8,000 meter course.

The Gustavus men's cross country team opened its 2008 season with a solid 12th place finish out of 26 teams. The Gusties were led by senior co-captain Dan Foley, who placed 22nd out of 361 runners with a time of 27:13 over the 8,000 meter course.

Men’s Cross Country Hosts Alumni Meet

The Gustavus men's cross country team hosted its annual Alumni Meet this past Saturday in the Arboretum. Twenty-seven runners participated in the event including 12 members of the Gustavus team and 15 former Gusties. Mike Henderson, who competed for Gustavus from 1997-2000, James Sorenson, who competed from 2001-04, and Chris deLaubenfels, who competed from 2004-07, finished in a three-way tie for first with a time of 16:28. The top Gustavus runner was Dan Foley who finished fourth in a time of 16:37.

The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) released its men's and women's Academic All-District Track and Field/Cross Country Teams sponsored by ESPN The Magazine and three Gustavus student athletes were honored including Drew Hood, Chris deLaubenfels, and Laura Edlund.

deLaubenfels Finishes 54th at NCAA Cross Country Championships

Gustavus senior Chris deLaubenfels completed his career with a 54th place finish at the 2007 NCAA Men's Cross Country Championship which was run at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn. on Saturday. deLaubenfels recorded a time of 25:28 over the 8,000 meter course which was 1:04 behind overall champion Tyler Sigl of University of Wisconsin-Platteville.

Men’s Cross Country Finishes Fifth at MIAC Championships; deLaubenfels Finishes Fourth

On a beautiful fall afternoon, the Gustavus men's cross country team ran its best race of the season finishing fifth with 134 points at the MIAC Cross Country Championships Saturday in St. Paul. The fifth place finish at the conference meet was the highest since 1994 when the squad finished fourth. St. John's claimed its second consecutive title with 49 points. Chris deLaubenfels (Sr., Mount Vernon, Iowa) finished fourth amidst strong competition with a time of 25:47,
