Men’s Cross Country Team Finishes 15th At Roy Griak Invitational Posted on September 27th, 2008 by

The Gustavus men’s cross country team posted a 15th place finish out of 31 teams at the Roy Griak Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota at the Les Bolstad Golf Course in Minneapolis on Saturday. Dan Foley led the Gustie contingent as he finished 25th individually with a time of 26:30 on the 8,000 meter course.

Foley welcomed back senior co-captain John Leaf, who has missed the first month of the season with a leg injury. Leaf, who is easing back into competition was the 100th runner to cross the finish line in a time of 27:59.

Mark Hartman was the second Gustie to cross the finish line as he placed 69th in a time of 27:32 and John Kennedy, who has also battled illness this fall, finished 98th with a time of 27:58.

Wrapping up the rest of the top seven for Gustavus were Alex Prieve, who placed 115th in 28:14, Mark Bartley, who placed 132nd in 28:36, and Nick Ross, who placed 133rd in 28:38.
