Men’s Cross Country Finishes Sixth At MIAC Championships, Dan Foley Places Fifth Individually Posted on November 1st, 2008 by

Senior Dan Foley turned in one of the strongest performances of his collegiate career to finish fifth individually and helped Gustavus post a sixth place finish as a team at the MIAC Championships which took place at Como Park Golf Course on Saturday afternoon. Foley, who earned All-Conference honors by finishing in the top 15, registered a time of 25:34.65.

The Gusties also ran strong as a team as all five runners who scored placed in the top 40. Gustavus’s second runner to cross the finish line was Mark Hartman who placed 27th in a time of 27:32.45. Hartman was followed by John Leaf who placed 34th (26:59.95), Alex Prieve, who placed 39th (27:17.95), and Nick Ross, who placed 40th (27:19.60).

The Gusties totalled 145 as a team and finished behind champion St. Olaf (75), Hamline (87), St. Thomas (93), Bethel (96), Saint John’s (116).

Gustavus will compete at the NCAA Central Region Meet on Saturday, November 15. The meet will be hosted by Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa.
