The #1-seed John Kauss of Gustavus defeated #8-seed Charlie Paukert of Gustavus 6-3, 6-2 to claim the singles title. The #2-seeded doubles team of Mike Burdakin and John Kauss of Gustavus defeated the #8-seeded doubles team of Nick Hansen and Kevin Stickney of Gustavus 6-2, 6-2 to earn the doubles title.

Gustavus Adolphus College is hosting the Wilson/ITA Midwest Regional Championship at the Swanson Indoor Tennis Center and the Brown Outdoor Courts. The Men's Division III Midwest Region Championships will take place Friday, September 26 through Sunday, September 28. The Wilson/ITA Men's Division III Championships at Gustavus will feature 23 of the top small college tennis programs in the region.

The first day of the 2007 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Midwest Regional Men's Tennis Tournament is complete with four of the top ten seeds knocked out of singles play, along with the second-seeded doubles team being upset. Over 150 of the top small college tennis players in the Midwest will compete for singles and doubles championships. The winners will advance to the ITA Small College Championships in Mobile, Alabama Oct. 11-14.
Men’s and Women’s Tennis Teams Ranked in First Fila/ITA Division III Ratings of 2007
Both Gustavus Adolphus tennis teams remained ranked in the top 15 nationally as the first Fila Division III Tennis rankings of the spring were released by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Thursday, March 15. The Gustavus men, ranked fourth nationally in the fall edition of the rankings, dropped one notch to fifth, while the Gustavus women moved up one spot to 12th. UC-Santa Cruz is ranked first nationally on the men's side, while Emory is top-ranked on the women's side.
