Men’s Tennis Team Set To Host ITA Midwest Regional This Weekend

Gustavus Adolphus College is hosting the Wilson/ITA Midwest Regional Men's Tennis Tournament at the Swanson Indoor Tennis Center and the Brown Outdoor Courts this Friday, September 28 through Sunday, September 30. Over 150 of the top small college tennis players in the Midwest will compete for singles and doubles championships. The winners will advance to the ITA Small College Championships in Mobile, Alabama Oct. 11-14.

Men’s and Women’s Tennis Teams Ranked in First Fila/ITA Division III Ratings of 2007

Both Gustavus Adolphus tennis teams remained ranked in the top 15 nationally as the first Fila Division III Tennis rankings of the spring were released by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Thursday, March 15. The Gustavus men, ranked fourth nationally in the fall edition of the rankings, dropped one notch to fifth, while the Gustavus women moved up one spot to 12th. UC-Santa Cruz is ranked first nationally on the men's side, while Emory is top-ranked on the women's side.

Men’s Tennis Tripped Up by Top-Ranked Emory 6-3 in ITA Third-Place Match

The Gustavus Adolphus men's tennis team closed out its run at the ITA Division III Men's National Team Indoor Championships with a 6-3 loss to top-ranked Emory Sunday in the tournament's third-place match. Gustavus will host duals with Augustana (S.D.) and UW-Whitewater Saturday, while also sending a team to face St. Thomas in a MIAC dual.

Men’s Tennis Advances to ITA Semifinals With 9-0 Win Over Swarthmore

The No. 3 Gustavus Adolphus men's tennis team advanced to the semifinal round of the ITA Division III National Men's Indoor Team Championships with a 9-0 win over No. 23 Swarthmore. The Gusties will face No. 2 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Swanson Tennis Center.

Men’s Tennis Team Hosting ITA Division III Indoor Championship This Weekend

Gustavus Adolphus College is set to host the seventh annual Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) National Division III Indoor Championship at the Swanson Tennis Center in St. Peter, Minnesota. Eight of the top 25 teams in Division III tennis will play off to determine the 2007 ITA National Indoor Champion. Three-time and defending champion Gustavus will defend its title as the #2 seed. 2004 and 2005 ITA Indoor champion Emory University will be the #1 seed.

Burdakin and Paukert Fourth, Brauer Seventh at ITA National Small College Championships

Gustavus Adolphus men's tennis players Mike Burdakin and Charlie Paukert finished fourth in the NCAA Division III bracket after a pair of losses Friday at the ITA National Small College Championships at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers. Senior Jesse Brauer lost a consolation semifinal match Friday morning and defeated New York University's Mikhail Gurevich in three sets for seventh place on Saturday.

Men’s Tennis Sends Three to ITA National Small College Championships

Gustavus Adolphus men's tennis players Jesse Brauer, Mike Burdakin and Charlie Paukert will participate in the 2006 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) National Small College Championships October 12-15 at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers. The overall ITA "Super Bowl" of Small College Tennis champions on Oct. 15 will earn wild cards into the Nov. 2-5 ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships, hosted by The Ohio State University in Columbus.

Sophomores Charlie Paukert and Mike Burdakin took the doubles title at the Wilson/ITA Midwest Region Championships. 

Brauer, Burdakin and Paukert Take Titles at ITA Midwest Regional

Host Gustavus Adolphus captured both the singles and doubles titles at this weekend's Wilson/ITA Midwest Region Championships at the Brown Outdoor Courts in St. Peter. The fifth-seeded tandem of Mike Burdakin and Charlie Paukert took the doubles title over top-seeded Gusties Jesse Brauer and Andy Bryan, while Brauer needed a third-set tie-breaker to defeat Bryan for the singles title. Brauer, Burdakin and Paukert advance to the ITA National Small College Championships Oct. 12-15 in Fort Myers, Fla.

Gustavus will host the 2006 Wilson/ITA Midwest Regional Men’s Tennis Championships Sept. 29-Oct. 1. 

Men’s Tennis Set to Host Wilson/ITA Midwest Regional This Weekend

Gustavus Adolphus College is hosting the 2006 Wilson/ITA Men's Division III Midwest Region Championships, one of the 61 Wilson/ITA Regional Championships played across the country over the last three weeks of September. Championship play will take place Friday, Sept. 29 through Sunday, Oct. 1 at the Swanson Indoor Tennis Center and the Brown Outdoor Courts in St. Peter.

Despite qualifying a singles and doubles team for the finals, the Gustavus women's tennis team fails to claim a title at the Women's ITA Midwest Regional.
