Gymnastics Team Defeats UW-Eau Claire 173.875 to 173.000

The Gustavus women's gymnastics team used its best bar score of the season to help claim a narrow dual meet win over the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire 173.875 to 173.00. Nicole Gergen took top honors on the balance beam with a score of 9.125 and Christine Askham finished first on the floor exercise with a score of 9.125. Gustavus completed the regular season with a dual meet record of 4-3.

Gymnastics Team Posts Season High Total of 174.10 at Hamline Triangular

The Gustavus women's gymnastics team scored a season high total of 174.10 in finishing third out of three at Hamline University in St. Paul on Friday night. The Gusties posted season high team event totals on the uneven bars (42.225), the balance beam (43.30), and the floor exercise (43.60).

Gymnastics Team Defeats UW-Oshkosh 171.15 to 165.750

The Gustavus gymnastics team claimed its third dual meet win of the season by outscoring UW-Oshkosh 171.15 to 165.750 on Saturday afternoon in St. Peter. The Gusties claimed first place individual finishes on each of the apparatus. Danielle Abel won the vault (9.10), Laura Hansen won the uneven bars (8.80), Jaime Tsurasaki won the balance beam (8.725) and Nicole Gergen won the floor exercise (8.85).

Women’s Gymnastics Picks Up Dual Meet Win Against UW-Stout

The Gustavus gymnastics team outscored the University of Wisconsin-Stout 171.60 to 166.975 to claim its second dual meet victory of the season. The Gusties were led by Christine Askham who finished first on the uneven bars (8.90), Nicole Gergen who finished first on the balance beam (8.90) and Danielle Abel who tied for first on the vault (9.35).

Gymnastics Team Comes Up Just Short in Dual Meet Loss to Winona State

The Gustavus gymnastics team turned in a strong performance against Winona State on Friday night, but the Warriors prevailed by the score of 170.70 to 170.325. First year standout Christine Askham finished first in the floor exercise (8.875) and tied for first on the uneven parallel bars with teammate Laura Hanson (8.75).

Gymnastics Out of UW-Eau Claire Invite

Because of a change in starting time, the Gustavus Adolphus gymnastics team will be unable to participate in tomorrow's UW-Eau Claire Invitational. Originally scheduled as a 1 p.m. meet, the meet will now start at 11 a.m. due to the availability of judges. Gustavus returns to action on Friday, Jan. 20 when they host Winona State University in a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference dual at 7 p.m. in Sponberg Gymnasium.

Gymnastics Team Set to Open 2006 Season

The Gustavus Adolphus College gymnastics team will open its 2006 season this Saturday with a dual meet at the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater. Coach Kris Glidden is working with a lot of fresh, new faces this year and she is excited about the enthusiasm and potential of this young group.

Brittany Moore Finishes 11th in Vault at NCGA Championships

Gustavus sophomore gymnast Brittany Moore finished 11th on the vault at the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association Championships held in La Crosse, Wisconsin on April 1-2. Moore finished with a two-day total of 18.70 (9.375-9.325).

Gustavus gymnast Amanda Parker was named Outstanding Senior Athlete of the Year by the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association this past weekend in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

The Gustavus women's gymnastics team finished fourth with a score of 180.15 at the NCGA West Regional held at UW-Eau Claire on Friday night. Brittany Moore led the Gusties by finishing first on the vault with a score of 9.525.
