McCoy Named MIAC Women’s Hockey Athlete of the Week

Gustavus women's hockey goalie Katie McCoy (Fy., Grafton, Wis.) improved to 6-0-1 and recorded her third and fourth shutouts of the season last weekend, helping the Gusties sweep St. Thomas for the first time since 2012.

Women’s Hockey Blanks St. Thomas

The No. 5 Gustavus women's hockey team remained unbeaten in conference play, shutting out St. Thomas 1-0 Friday night. With the win, the Gusties improve to 12-2-1 overall and 8-0-1 in the conference while the Tommies drop to 9-3-3 overall and 8-1-0 in the MIAC. Gustavus also move into first place in the league with a one point edge on St. Thomas.

Women’s Hockey Takes on St. Thomas This Weekend

No. 5 Gustavus women's hockey is set to take on St. Thomas this weekend in a matchup of the MIAC's top two teams. Friday night's game at Don Roberts Ice Rink starts at 7 p.m. and Saturday's game in Mendota Heights begins at 7:30 p.m. The Gusties enter the series 11-2-1 overall and 7-0-1 in the MIAC, while the Tommies are 9-2-3 overall and 8-0-0 in the league. 

Women’s Hockey Completes Sweep of St. Olaf

No. 7 Gustavus women’s hockey completed the series sweep over St. Olaf on Sunday with a 5-0 victory. The Gusties improve to 11-2-1 overall and 7-0-1 in the MIAC, while the Oles drop to 0-13-2 overall and 0-8-0 in the league.

Saturday’s contest will start at 2 p.m. at The St. Olaf Ice Arena. The Gusties enter the contest 9-2-1 overall and 5-0-1 in conference while the Oles are 0-11-2 overall and 0-6-2 in the MIAC.

Kristen Cash (Sr., Roseville) tallied a goal and an assist in the Gustavus women's hockey team's two-game series split with No. 7 UW-River Falls last week. For her performance, Cash has been named MIAC Women's Hockey Athlete of the Week.
