Women’s Tennis Erases 3-0 Deficit, Beats Carleton 5-4

Trailing 3-0 after being swept in doubles play, the Gustavus women's tennis team won five of six singles matches to claim an improbable 5-4 victory over previously undefeated Carleton on Saturday at the Swanson Tennis Center.

Softball Sweeps Macalester 6-2, 10-7

The Gustavus softball team earned its second conference sweep of the season Wednesday, beating Macalester 6-2 in game one before a 10-7 win in the nightcap.

The Gustavus baseball team continued to dominate with a 14-1 game one win and a 17-3 game two win over Augsburg at home on Wednesday afternoon. With the wins, the Gusties improve to 18-4 overall and 7-1 in the MIAC.

Kratz Named MIAC Women’s Golfer of the Week

Emily Kratz (Sr., Edina) earned medalists honors at the Wartburg Spring Invitational on April 9-10, helping the Gusties to a second-place team finish at the event.

Mocchi Named MIAC Baseball Player of the Week

Ethan Mocchi (Sr., Champlin) went 11-for-19 for a .579 average in six conference games last week. Mocchi drove in 14 runs and crossed home plate seven times as the Gusties went 5-1 in league play. He closed the weekend with a grand slam home run in the team's 17-1 win over Carleton on April 10. For his performance, Mocchi has been named MIAC Baseball Player of the Week. 

Women’s Golf Takes Second at Wartburg, Kratz Wins Medalist Honors

The Gustavus women's golf team took second place out of 14 teams Sunday at the Wartburg Spring Invitational. The Gusties shot a 313-317-630 (+70), which was 10 strokes off the leader Bethel. 

Baseball Sweeps Carleton Doubleheader

SAINT PETER, Minn. - The Gustavus baseball team completed its weekend conference sweep winning 11-9 over Carleton with a walk off grand slam, followed by a convincing 17-1 game two victory. With the wins the Gusties improve to 16-4 overall and 5-1 in the MIAC.

Women’s Tennis Completes Unblemished MIAC Weekend

The No. 35-ranked Gustavus women's tennis team completed a perfect weekend by winning a pair of 9-0 conference matches on Sunday for the second straight day. The Gusties started the morning with a clean sweep over Concordia at the Swanson Tennis Center and then a split squad blanked Hamline in Saint Paul.

Track and Field Boasts 14 First-Place Finishes at Luther

The Gustavus track and field team continued its winning ways highlighted by five Gusties breaking meet records; Rachel Erickson (Sr., Starbuck) in the javelin throw (34.93m), Annika Poe (Jr., Big Lake) in the shot put (13.67m) and discus (38.18m), Birgen Nelson (So., Edina) in the 100 Hurdles (14.18), and Madi Kes (So., Jordan) in the triple jump (11.28m).

Women’s Tennis Blanks Macalester and St. Scholastica

The Gustavus women's tennis team picked up two 9-0 conference victories on Saturday at the Swanson Tennis Center. The Gusties started the day with a clean sweep over Macalester and then continued the trend against St. Scholastica, improving to 12-6 overall and 4-0 in the MIAC.
