The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its men’s golf Athlete of the Week award this afternoon, with Gustavus senior Alec Aunan (Sr., Rock Island, Ill.) receiving the honor after earning co-medalist honors at the 2017 MIAC Men's Golf Championships over the weekend. 

Men’s Golf Takes Fourth At MIAC Championships, Aunan Earns Medalist Honors

The Gustavus men’s golf team concluded its fall season Monday at the MIAC Championships, played at Ridges at Sand Creek, and finished in fourth place with a score of 301-307-295-903 (+39). Alec Aunan (Sr., Rock Island, Ill.) earned co-medalist honors after carding a 72-74-73-219, garnering the program’s 25th MIAC individual championship.

Men’s Golf Moves Up One Spot After Round Two Of MIAC Championships

The Gustavus men's golf team moved up to fourth place after day two of the MIAC Championships Sunday, hosted at Ridges at Sand Greek. The Gusties turned in a score of 308 (+19), and is 19 strokes behind the leader, the University of St. Thomas. Augsburg University and Saint John's University remain ahead of Gustavus in second and third. 

Men’s Golf In Fifth Place After First Round At MIAC Championships

The Gustavus men’s golf team sits in fifth place after day one Saturday at the MIAC Championships, hosted at Ridges at Sand Creek. The Gusties fired a 301 (+13), which is 18 strokes off the leader St. Thomas. Augsburg is in second at +4, while Saint John’s is in third at +8.

Men’s Golf Takes 17th At NCAA Preview

The No. 20 Gustavus men’s golf team wrapped up play at the NCAA Division III Preview on Monday at Grandover Resort, taking 17th of 18 teams with a score of 306-311-311-928. No. 1 Texas-Tyler won the event with an 875, while No. 5 Huntingdon and No. 9 Illinois Wesleyan tied for second at 878.

Men’s Golf Tied For 16th After Day One At NCAA Preview

The No. 20 Gustavus men’s golf team got off to a rocky start Sunday at the NCAA Division III Preview, carding a 306 in the first round and 311 in the second for a two-round total of 617, which has the Gusties tied for 16th out of 18 teams.

Men’s Golf Places Sixth At Saint John’s Fall Invite

The Gustavus men’s golf team Sunday concluded play at the Saint John’s Fall Invitational, played at Greystone Golf Club, taking sixth place out of 17 teams. The Gusties posted a 311-300-611, which was 18 stokes off the winning team and host Saint John’s. The University of Manitoba shared medalist honors by carding a 593 as well, while St. Thomas took third with a 599.

Men’s Golf In Ninth Place After First Round At Saint John’s Fall Invite

The Gustavus men’s golf team shot a first-round 311 (+23) Saturday at the Saint John’s Fall Invitational – played at Blackberry Ridge Golf Course – which has the Gusties sitting in ninth place out of 17 teams. The University of Manitoba leads the field after posting a 294. UW-Eau Claire is in second with a score of 295 and St. Thomas is in third with a 302.

Men’s Golf Jumps Up Four Spots, Finishes Third At UW-Eau Claire Invite

After sitting in seventh place after the first round of the Frank Wrigglesworth Invite, the Gustavus men’s golf team posted the lowest second round team score to jump up four spots and finish third of 16 on Monday afternoon. The Gusties shot a 310-300-610, which was four shots off the leader Augsburg at 297-309-606. Host UW-Eau Claire took second with a 305-302-607.

2017 Golf Season Preview

The Gustavus men’s and women’s golf teams tee up the 2017 fall season today as the men compete in the Transylvania Invite in Lexington. Ky. and the women compete in the Saint Benedict Invitational in Sartell, Minn. Both meets are two-day events.
