Women’s Soccer Falls to Concordia-Moorhead 4-2

The Gustavus women's soccer team fell to 0-2 in the MIAC with a 4-2 loss at Concordia-Moorhead on Saturday afternoon. Becca Hagen and Amy Kunkel scored in the second half for the Gusties. Ashley Ohlson made 11 saves and suffered the loss in the nets for Gustavus.

Women’s Soccer Defeats Luther 1-0

The Gustavus women's soccer team improved to 4-3-0 on the season with a 1-0 win over Luther in St. Peter, Minn. on Sunday afternoon. Senior forward Jenna Iaizzo headed in a corner kick from Rachel Iblings midway through the first half and that is all the Gusties needed to claim the non-conference victory over the Norse. Chelsea Bayer picked up the shutout win in the nets.

The Gustavus women's soccer team was shut out for the first time this season losing to St. Olaf 1-0 in Northfield on Wednesday afternoon. The Gusties are now 3-2-0 overall and 0-1-0 in conference play.

The Gustavus women's soccer team bounced back from a disappointing 3-1 loss to UW-Stevens Point on Friday, with a convincing 4-0 win at UW-Stout on Saturday night. The Gusties scored three goals in the first half and then added one more in the final 45 minutes to claim the non-conference win. Four different players scored for Gustavus.

The Gustavus women's soccer team battled UW-Stevens Point to a 1-1 tie through the first 45 minutes, however the Pointers scored twice within one minute early in the second half to post a 3-1 win over the Gusties in St. Peter. Amy Kunkel scored the lone goal for Gustavus.

Women’s Soccer Improves to 2-0 With 3-1 Win Over Grinnell

The Gustavus women's soccer improved to 2-0 with a 3-1 win over Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa on Saturday afternoon. The Gusties scored twice in the first half and once in the second half to take a 3-0 lead, but Grinnell scored with just under four minutes left to play to make the final score 3-1. Callie Christensen, Christy Tupy, and Julien Babel scored for the Gusties.

Senior Forward Jenna Iaizzo Set To Lead 2007 Women’s Soccer Team

The Gustavus Adolphus College women's soccer team returns six starters and 14 letterwinners from a team that finished with a mark of 8-8-2 overall, and 5-4-2 (sixth) in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) last season. Coach Mike Stehlik will build the 2007 squad around senior forward Jenna Iaizzo, the team's leading returning scorer, and defender Rachel Iblings. Both were honorable mention all-conference performers last season.

Tupy’s Goal in Final Minutes of Regulation Gives Women’s Soccer 2-1 Win At Simpson

The Gustavus women's soccer team opened its 2007 season with an exciting 2-1 win over Simpson College. Junior forward Christy Tupy scored the game-winning goal in the 85th minute off an assist from midfielder Amy Kunkel. Ashley Olson made four saves and earned the win in the nets for the Gusties.

Larson, Quealy Named All-MIAC in Women’s Soccer; Three Others Named Honorable Mention

A pair of Gustavus Adolphus women's soccer players have been named to the All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's soccer team for the 2006 season. Forward Amy Larson and defender Shannon Quealy, both seniors, were named to the first team, while senior midfielder Alison Rethwisch, junior forward Jenna Iaizzo and first-year defender Rachel Iblings received honorable mention.

Three Women’s Soccer Players Named Academic All-District V

The Gustavus Adolphus women's soccer team has had three of its players named to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V team. Seniors Liz Petersen and Alison Rethwisch have been named to the College Division first team and will be placed to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America ballot. Fellow senior Amy Larson was named to the College Division second team.
