Gustavus and KARE 11 Team Up To Break World Record for Longest Tennis Match

Gustavus Adolphus College will join with KARE 11 Television on May 3-4 as KARE 11 reporters David Watkins and Eric Perkins attempt to break the world record for the longest tennis match. The match, which is the part of a series hosted by Watkins called “Record Wreckers”, will take place at the Swanson Tennis Center on the Gustavus Adolphus College campus in St. Peter, Minnesota.

Taylor Drenttel Named MIAC Women’s Golfer Of The Week

Gustavus Adolphus College sophomore Taylor Drenttel (Eagan, Minn.) has been named MIAC Women's Golfer of the Week for the second time this spring by the MIAC Golf Coaches. Drenttel claimed medalist honors for the second time in three tournaments this spring posting a 36-hole total of 76-77-153 at the Carleton Invitational over the weekend.

Men’s Golf Team In Seventh Place After First Round of Saint John’s Invititational

The Gustavus men's golf team posted a first round score of 306 and sits in seventh place after the first round of the 16-team Saint John's Invitational played at St. Cloud Country Club. Saul Menendez led Gustavus individually with a 73 (tie for seventh).

Klass And Collins Named MIAC Athletes Of The Week

Two members of the Gustavus softball team earned MIAC Softball Athletes of the Week honors yesterday. Sophomore second baseman Lisa Klass earned player of the week honors while senior pitcher Betsie Collins was awarded pitcher of the week.

Melissa Mackley, Kirstin Peterson Named First Team All-America In Women’s Hockey

Gustavus women’s hockey players Melissa Mackley and Kirstin Peterson were named to the American Hockey Coaches Association All-America team today. Mackley and Peterson, who were both First Team All-MIAC selections, are being honored on the All-America Team for the second consecutive year.

Men’s Swimming & Diving Drops Dual Meet to St. Olaf 141-157

The Gustavus men's swimming and diving team lost its opening conference dual meet to St. Olaf 141-157 on Saturday afternoon in St. Peter. Top Gustavus swimmers were Whitaker Davis and Paul Kirihara. Whitaker placed first in the 200 freestyle (1:44.37) and 200 butterfly (2:01.89), and took second in the 100 freestyle (48.75). Kirihara had a another successful day in the backstroke, winning the 100 (53.66) and 200 (1:58.19).
