Men’s Golf Finishes Fourth at Wartburg Invitational

The Gustavus men's golf team posted a 36-hole total of 303-296--599 to place fourth at the Wartburg Invitational in Waverly, Iowa. The Gusties were just two shots behind champion St. Thomas, which posted a total of 296-301--597. Gustavus was led by Ricky Copeland, who finished fourth at 74-70--144, and A.J. Olson, who finished seventh at 73-73--146.

Ricky Copeland Named MIAC Men’s Golfer of the Week

Gustavus Adolphus College junior Ricky Copeland (Mahtomedi, Minn.) has been named the MIAC Golfer of the Week by the league's golf coaches. Copeland shot 74-73 (+3) to finish in sixth place out of 123 golfers at the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational at the Ironwood Golf Course in Normal, Ill. Copeland's total of 147 led Gustavus to an eighth-place finish (302-320--622) in the 22-team invitational.

Men’s Golf Finishes Eighth at Illinois Wesleyan Invitational

The Gustavus men's golf team finished eighth out of 20 teams at the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational which was played at Ironwood Golf Course in Normal, Illinois. Host Illinois Wesleyan finished first with a 36-hole total of 291-293--584, while the Gusties posted a total of 302-320--622. Gustavus was led by Ricky Copeland, who finished sixth individually with a total of 74-73--147.

Men’s Golf Tied For Second Place After First Day of the Illlinois Wesleyan Invitational

The Gustavus men's golf team shot a first round 302 and is in a tie for second place with Benedictine University at the 22-team Illinois Wesleyan University, which is being played at Ironwood Golf Club in Normal, Illinois. Host Illinois Wesleyan is in first place with a total of 291. John Anderson led Gustavus with a 72, which was the third best score of the day. The 36-hole tournament concludes on Saturday.

Men’s Golf Opens Spring Season With 18th Place Finish At Jekyll Island Invitational

The Gustavus men's golf team opened its Spring season with a 18th place finish out of 27 teams at the Jekyll Island Invitational in Jekyll Island, Georgia. Ricky Copeland was the top men's finisher. He placed 67th with a total of 79-79-77--235. The Gusties will spend the rest of the week practicing in Florida and then return to action at the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational in Bloomington, Illinois on April 3-4.

The Gustavus men's golf team fired a final round team total of 304 and finished second to Saint John's at the MIAC Championships which were held at Bunker Hills Golf Club in Coon Rapids, Minn. The Gusties, who finished with a 54-hole total of 314-299-304--917, were led individually by Ricky Copeland who placed third with a total of 75-71-75--221.
