Stumbo Finishes 109th at NCAA Championships

Andrew Stumbo (Sr., Boone, Iowa) capped his Gustavus cross country career Saturday at the NCAA Championships, taking 109th place out of 289 runners with a time of 24:55.5. Stumbo’s time today was his personal best and third fastest 8k time in program history, just seven seconds behind Bob Klindworth’s mark of 24:48 in 1991.

Gustavus senior cross country runner Andrew Stumbo (Boone, Iowa) is set to culminate his collegiate cross country career Saturday at the NCAA Division III Championships. The race is held at E.P. Tom Sawyer Park in Louisville, Ky. and starts at 10 a.m. CST Saturday.

Both the Gustavus men’s and women’s cross country teams finished in the top-five at the UW-La Crosse Jim Drews/Tori Neubauer Invitational on Friday. The Gustie men took fifth out of 23 teams with a score of 131, while the women placed fourth out of 20 with 137 points.
