Men’s Hoops Looks To Bounce Back, Hosts Concordia

The Gustavus men’s basketball team is set to continue Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play at Gus Young Court Saturday afternoon for a 1:00 p.m. tipoff versus Concordia College. The Gusties (6-5, 4-2 MIAC) and the Cobbers (3-7, 1-4 MIAC) are both looking to snap losing skids.

Women's basketball player Miranda Rice (Sr., Forest Lake, Minn.) and men's basketball player Riley Sharbono (Jr., Marshall, Minn.) have been selected as the Gustavus Adolphus College December Female and Male Student-Athletes-of-the-Month, presented by Thrivent Financial and voted on by the Gustavus Sports Information Department.

Men’s Hoops Begins New Year Hosting Carleton

The Gustavus men’s basketball team is set to kick off the new year heading back into Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action, hosting Carleton College Wednesday evening at Gus Young Court. The Gusties (6-4, 4-1 MIAC) and the Knights (6-3, 4-0 MIAC) are both looking to snap two-game losing skids. 

Men’s Basketball Unable To Hold Late Lead, Falls To UM-Morris 76-71

Saturday’s men’s basketball non-conference tilt between Gustavus and Minnesota-Morris went down to the wire, but the home squad was unable to hold on to a late lead after making an 11-point comeback, losing 76-71. The Gusties led 71-70 with 2:15 to play in the game before the Cougars scored six unanswered points to close out the game. Gustavus moves to 6-4 overall, while UM-Morris improves to 4-7.

Men’s Hoops Returns From Break, Hosts UM-Morris

The Gustavus men’s basketball team is set to return from the holiday break hosting a non-conference game against the University of Minnesota-Morris Saturday afternoon at Gus Young Court. The Gusties (6-3 overall) most recently had their five-game winning streak snapped, while the Cougars have won three-straight after opening the season on a seven-game losing skid (3-7 overall). 

Men’s Hoops Suffers First MIAC Loss, Falling 64-51 At St. Thomas

The Gustavus men's basketball was downed 61-54 Wednesday evening at the University of St. Thomas, ending the four-game winning streak to open Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play. 

Men’s Basketball Travels To Take On St. Thomas

The Gustavus men’s basketball team is set to continue Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play, heading to St. Paul, Minn. Wednesday evening for a 7 p.m. tipoff at the University of St. Thomas. Riding a five-game winning streak and a 4-0 start to conference play, the Gusties own a 6-2 overall record, while the Tommies have dropped three-straight and are 3-4 overall and 1-2 in the MIAC.

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its Men's Basketball Player of the Week award this afternoon, with Riley Sharbono (Jr., Marshall, Minn.) earning the weekly honor. 

Strong Second Half Leads Men’s Basketball To 65-59 Win Over Hamline

Trailing by four points at halftime, the Gustavus men's basketball team opened the second half on a 21-8 run and maintained the lead for the rest of the game Saturday evening at Gus Young Court to stay unbeaten during Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play.
