The No. 12 Gustavus volleyball team made quick work of Carleton on Wednesday night, winning in straight sets 25-14, 25-22, and 25-10. The victory moves the Gusties to 11-2 overall and 2-0 in the MIAC, while the Knights fall to 10-2 overall and 1-1 in the league.

The Gustavus men’s soccer match at Viterbo University scheduled for 4 p.m. Wednesday has been postponed due to unplayable field conditions at the Viterbo Outdoor Athletics Complex. The match will be rescheduled for a date in mid-October.

Severson Named MIAC Men’s Soccer Athlete of the Week
Gustavus men’s soccer goalkeeper Anders Severson (Sr., Woodbury, Minn.) has been named MIAC Athlete of the Week after posting back-to-back shutouts in the first two conference matches of the season as Gustavus defeated Carleton, 2-0, and Concordia, 1-0, in MIAC play last week.

After suffering a five-set loss to UW-Eau Claire last night, the No. 9 Gustavus volleyball team responded with a pair of victories Saturday at the Sandy Schumacher Memorial. The Gusties beat Edgewood in straight sets 25-19, 25-15, 25-21 and followed with a four-set victory over Lakeland 16-25, 25-18, 25-22, 25-22, improving to 10-2 overall.

The time and location of the Gustavus vs. Saint John’s football game Saturday have changed. The Gusties will play host to the Johnnies at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Saint Peter High School football field, which is located directly north of the Gustavus campus.

Football to Host Saint John’s Saturday in MIAC Opener
The Gustavus football team welcomes Saint John’s to Hollingsworth Field at 1 p.m. Saturday to open the MIAC schedule. The Gusties are 1-1 overall after a 24-23 overtime loss to UW-Stout last week, while the No. 9-ranked Johnnies are 1-0 and last played Sept. 1 in a 27-0 win against UW-Stout.
