  • Volleyball Beats Hamline in Straight Sets

    The No. 9 Gustavus volleyball team Wednesday began conference play with a straight-set victory over Hamline. The Gusties won by scores of 25-15, 25-14, and 25-23 to improve to 8-1 overall and 1-0 in the MIAC.

  • Men’s Soccer Blanks Carleton 2-0 in MIAC Opener

    The Gustavus men’s soccer team opened conference action Wednesday with a 2-0 shutout victory over Carleton at the Gustie Soccer Field. The Gusties improve to 4-1 overall and 1-0 in the MIAC, while the Knights fall to 3-1 overall and 0-1 in the league.

  • Volleyball Hosts Hamline Wednesday Night in MIAC Opener

    The No. 9 Gustavus volleyball team finally gets to play at the friendly confines of Gus Young Court tonight as it hosts Hamline in the MIAC opener at 7 p.m. The Gusties are 7-1 overall after winning the Loras Invitational last weekend, while the Pipers are 5-1, most recently defeating Marian 3-0 last Saturday.

  • Men’s Soccer Hosts Carleton in MIAC Opener Wednesday

    After starting the 2018 season with four non-league matches, the Gustavus men’s soccer team kicks off MIAC play at 4 p.m. today against Carleton at the Gustie Soccer Field. The Gusties are 3-1 overall, most recently defeating Wartburg 2-1 in overtime Sunday, while the Knights are 3-0 after beating North Central (Ill.) 2-1 last Friday.

  • Hanson, Holtan earn MIAC Volleyball Players of the Week Honors

    Gustavus volleyball seniors Lauren Hanson (Redwood Falls, Minn.) and Nora Holtan (Rochester, Minn.) have been named MIAC Volleyball Hitter and Setter of the Week, respectively.

  • Men’s Soccer Outlasts Wartburg 2-1 in Overtime

    After suffering a shutout loss Friday night, the Gustavus men’s soccer team rebounded Sunday night with a 2-1 overtime victory at Wartburg. Matt Gibbons (So., Minneapolis, Minn.) scored the game-winning goal in the fifth minute of the extra period on a free kick to move the Gusties to 3-1 overall.

  • Volleyball Wins Loras Invite, Defeats No. 14 Northwestern and Loras

    The No. 9 Gustavus volleyball team completed a perfect 4-0 run at the Loras Invitational on Saturday, defeating No. 14 Northwestern-St. Paul in five sets followed by a 3-1 win over host Loras to improve to 7-1 overall. The Gusties won their first two matches at the invitational on Friday night as well.

  • Football Falters Late, Drops Home Opener to UW-Stout in Overtime 24-23

    Despite holding a 17-0 lead though 43 minutes of play Saturday, the Gustavus football team suffered a deflating 24-23 overtime loss to UW-Stout in the home opener. The Blue Devils scored the game-tying touchdown with eight seconds remaining in regulation, scored a touchdown on their first overtime possession, and blocked the would-be game-tying extra point…

  • Men’s Soccer Falls 3-0 at Luther

    The Gustavus men’s soccer team suffered its first setback of the season in a 3-0 loss Friday night at Luther. The Gusties move to 2-1 overall, while the Norse improve to 4-0.

  • Volleyball Starts Loras Invite with Pair of Wins, Hanson Joins 1,000-Kill Club

    The No. 9-ranked Gustavus volleyball team started the Loras Invitational with a pair of wins Friday. The Gusties dropped only the second frame against Dominican and rallied to win in four sets, followed by a shutout victory over Dubuque, improving to 5-1 overall.
