Men’s Tennis Sweeps UW-Eau Claire 9-0

The Gustavus men's tennis team picked up its second win of the weekend with a 9-0 sweep of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Sunday morning in St. Peter. The Gusties won every set of the day but one, which came in the hotly contested #1 singles matchup between Amrik Donkena and Chris Kuna.

Softball Sweeps Concordia 9-1, 8-0

The Gustavus softball team swept Concordia on Saturday afternoon in St. Peter, winning game one 9-1 and game two 8-0. With the victories, the Gusties move to 11-9 overall and 4-0 in the MIAC.

Three Women’s Hockey Players Named All-Conference, Carroll Honored As Coach Of The Year

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's hockey coaches recently released its 2010-11 Post-Season Awards and Gustie players Kirstin Peterson, Lindsey Hjelm, and Amanda Cartony were named to the All-Conference Team, while Mike Carroll was named Coach of the Year.

Jens Brabbit Finishes 36th In 10k Freestyle At NCAA Skiing Championships

Gustavus senior Jens Brabbit took 36th place in the 10k freestyle race on Wednesday at the NCAA Skiiing Championships in Stowe, Vermont. Brabbit will compete again on Friday, March 11, in the 20k classic race.

Seth Anderson Named All-Conference In Men’s Basketball

Gustavus junior Seth Anderson was named to the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Men's Basketball All-Conference Team for the 2010-2011 season. Other Gustavus players receiving recognition included All-Conference Honorable Mention honorees Dan Schmidtknecht and Phil Wirtjes. Matt Doble was named to the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team.

The Gustavus Academic All-Conference honorees for women's soccer include Chelsea Bayer (Sr., Rogers, Minn.), Nicole Carlson (So., Plymouth, Minn.), Nicole Kwapick (Sr., White Bear Lake, Minn.), Karen Maus (Sr., Rogers, Minn.) and Meghan Faricy (Sr., Rosemount, Minn.)

Women’s Hockey Defeats Bethel 3-0, Claims Eighth Straight MIAC Playoff Title

The Gustavus women's hockey team earned its eighth consecutive MIAC Playoff Championship with a 3-0 win over the Bethel Royals on Saturday afternoon in St. Peter. Junior Allie Schwab scored two goals to lead the Gusties.

MIAC Honors Six Football Players For Academic Achievement

The MIAC announced its Academic All-Conference Team for the fall 2010 season on Tuesday, March 1. Included among the honorees were Gustavus football players Logan Becker (Jr., Easton, Minn), Brian Grundmeyer (So., Inver Grove Heights, Minn.), Brad Kruckeberg (Jr., Ellendale, Minn.), Gavin Maurer (So., Morgan, Minn.), Paul Stommes (Sr., Richmond, Minn.) and Darin Wagner (Jr., Hayfield, Minn.).
