NEW ORLEANS, La. — The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its All-Region honorees on Friday and four Gustavus women were selected to the North Region Team.
Birgen Nelson (Sr., Edina) led the way, earning All-Region in three events. Nelson owns the top time in the region and the nation in the 100-hurdles at 13.32. She is second in the region in the 400-hurdles, and third in the region in the 100-meter.
Megan Geraets (So., Mankato) picked up two All-Region honors, one in the 200-meter and the other in the 400-meter. Annika Poe (Sr., Big Lake) owns the second-best shot put in the region and third best mark in the nation at 48-10.75 (14.90m). Madi Kes (Jr., Jordan) added her name to the list with the fifth-best triple jump in the region.
The top five individuals in each event earn All-Region distinction.
