Men’s Track & Field Wins Eight Events at Drake Alternative

The Gustavus men’s track & field team hosted the Drake Alternative on Friday for its only home meet of the season. SAINT PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus men’s track & field team hosted the Drake Alternative on Friday for its only home meet of the season. Five Gusties captured six first-place finishes – Bridger Pavelka (Jr., Minnetonka, Minn.) in the 1500 meters, Nick Kerbeshian (So., Plymouth, Minn.) in the 5K, Taylor Rooney (So., Andover, Minn.) in the 110 hurdles, Alex Wischnack (Sr., Norwood, Minn.) in the 3000-meter steeplechase, and Michael Hensch (Sr., North Branch, Minn.) in both the shot put and hammer throw.

The Gusties added relay victories in the 4×100 and 4×400.

Teams competing at the Drake Alternative included Gustavus, Bethany Lutheran, Bethel, Carleton, Concordia-St. Paul, Crown, Martin Luther, Minnesota State-Mankato, Saint Benedict, St. Olaf, St. Thomas, and UW-River Falls.
