CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Gustavus men’s tennis team continued their spring trip with a victory over No. 11 Trinity (Tex.) 6-3. With the win the Gusties improve to 12-6 on the season.

“The guys competed beautifully today,” said Head Coach Tommy Valentini. “The level of play in the doubles was extremely high on all courts. Yassine and Nick were fantastic at No. 2 to get us on the board. We realized that Nos. 1 and 3 could have gone either way and the guy showed tremendous heart to stay positive and be present heading into singles. From there it was a complete and focused team effort. Everyone stuck to their game plans and handled adversity and the big moments very well. To win five of six singles matches against a top caliber team like Trinity is an important accomplishment for our guys. We’re grateful that the result matched how well the guys competed and we’ll look to build on it moving forward.”
