Women’s Basketball To Host Play 4Kay Game Against Bethel On Wednesday Night

St. Peter, Minn. – The Gustavus women’s basketball team returns to Gus Young Court for an MIAC matchup against Bethel University on Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 7:30 p.m.  Gustavus heads into the game riding a five-game winning-streak at 13-8 overall and 10-8 in the MIAC.  Bethel enters the week at 15-6 overall and 13-5 in the MIAC.

Wednesday night’s gustavus versus bethel women’s basketball game will be designated as play 4kay night at Gus Young Court.  For eight years, the Kay Yow Cancer Fund has organized the play 4kay initiative, uniting a nation and raising more than 3.8 million dollars for women’s cancer research.  The Kay Yow Cancer Fund was founded in 2007 from the vision of the organization’s namesake, coach Kay Yow. The celebrated n-c-state women’s basketball coach and leader of two Olympic gold medal teams was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1987 and passed away in 2009.  Coach Yow didn’t lose her battle, she simply turned it over to each and every one of us.

Live video and live stats for Wednesday’s game will be provide by the Gustavus sports information department.
