Last Wednesday the Gustavus women’s basketball team participated in the inaugural Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Day of Service by volunteering at Mankato’s Emergency Community Help Organization (ECHO) Food Shelf. Student-athletes and the Gustavus coaching staff sorted food, cleaned a large walk-in freezer, and stocked shelves.
The Gustavus Adolphus College women’s basketball team rode out a 17-point, 46-29 halftime lead, to earn a 79-65 victory over Bethel University Wednesday evening at Robertson Center Gym. This improves the Gusties’ record to 13-5 overall and 8-3 in the MIAC.
Sophomore women’s basketball player Mikayla Miller (Goodhue, Minn) and senior men’s basketball player Chris Narum (Eagan, Minn) have been selected as the Gustavus Adolphus College December Male and Female Student-Athletes-Of-The-Month presented by Thrivent Financial and voted on by the Gustavus Sports Information Department.
The Gustavus women's basketball team wraps up its home slate of games for the calendar year with non-conference game against the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The Gusties enter the game with a 6-2 overall record after defeating Macalester 67-55 last Friday, while the Eagles enter with a 4-4 overall record after beating Carthage College 62-50 last Saturday.
