Swanson Named MIAC Men’s Basketball All-Conference

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) released its men's basketball postseason awards Tuesday and Gustavus sophomore Spencer Swanson (Waconia) has been selected to the All-Conference Team.

Women’s Basketball Heads to UW-Whitewater for First Round of NCAA Tournament, Will Face Ohio Wesleyan

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) on Monday announced the 64-team field for its Division III Women's Basketball Championship and Gustavus (25-2) is selected to face Ohio Wesleyan (18-10) in the first round, hosted by UW-Whitewater.

Szalay Named MIAC Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week

Allison Szalay (Fy., Urbandale, Iowa) won all three of her doubles and singles matches against nationally-ranked competition over the weekend.

Aney Named MIAC Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week

Nick Aney helped the Gusties to a sixth place team finish among seven of the top-10 teams in the country at the ITA Indoor Championships over the weekend. In the No. 1 doubles spot, Aney went 2-1 over three matches, including a win over No. 10 Emory's top pair - the NCAA runners-up from 2022. Aney also helped the Gusties to a victory over No. 8 North Carolina Wesleyan, winning in the No. 1 doubles spot, 8-4. Aney was 2-0 in No. 1 singles over the weekend with a win over No. 8 North Carolina Wesleyan and a 6-2, 7-5 victory over No. 1 University of Chicago. For his performance, Aney was named MIAC Athlete of the Week. 

Women’s Hockey Advances to MIAC Championship with 5-1 Win over Hamline

The Gusties are headed back to the MIAC Championship game after defeating Hamline by a score of 5-1 in the semifinal matchup. The Gusties scored four goals in the second period for the victory, outshooting Hamline 52-7 through the game. 

Men’s Tennis Finishes Sixth at ITA Championships

After facing No. 1 University of Chicago and No. 8 NC Wesleyan in days prior, the Gusties had one more ranked opponent to face as a part of the ITA Men's Team Indoor Championships. The Gusties faced No. 10 Emory, falling by an eventual score of 5-3 to the Eagles. 

Women’s Basketball Wins Second-Straight and Second-Ever MIAC Playoff Championship

Gustavus women's basketball did it again. The Gusties made history once more in an already record-setting season, earning the team's second-ever MIAC Playoff Championship, and their second in as many years. The Gusties won the title for the first time in front of a home crowd, and, after 11 years, Head Coach Laurie Kelly and her team finally got to cut down the nets at Gus Young Court.

Women’s Tennis Faces Nationally Ranked Opponents Over Weekend

The No. 38 Gustavus women's tennis team competed as a split squad over the weekend with the top team traveling to Indiana to face nationally ranked opponents and the second team traveling to the Minnesota Iron Range to face Division II competition.
