BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) released its men’s basketball postseason awards Tuesday and Gustavus sophomore Spencer Swanson (Waconia) has been selected to the All-Conference Team.

Swanson finished the season as the Gusties’ leading scorer and rebounder, averaging 19.9 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. His points per game ranked fifth in the MIAC, while his rebounding average ranked fourth. Swanson shot 48.8 percent from the field (17th/MIAC) while starting in 24 of 25 games this season. Swanson averaged a league-most 36.8 minutes per game. His 477 points this season are the most by a Gustie since Seth Anderson totaled 601 points during the 2011-12 season and his 203 rebounds are the most since Chad Henke pulled in 252 boards during the 2001-02 season.

Swanson earned national honors three times during the season. He was named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week on Dec. 13 and Jan. 31, joining Doug Espenson ’05 as the only Gusties to earn Team of the Week honors twice. Swanson was also named the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) Division III National Player of the Week on Jan. 31, becoming the first player in program history to earn the USBWA award.
