Day Two Results

HASTINGS, Minn. – The Gustavus men’s golf team finished day two of the MIAC Championship in fourth place after shooting 290 (+2).

Saint John’s continues to lead after shooting 281, 11 under par.

“Solid day today for the men, got off to a much better start as a whole,” said Head Coach Scott Moe “We did a nice job taking advantage of the par fives, felt like we could’ve had a few closer shots for some better looks on the shorter par fours. But all in all, felt like we stuck to our game plan. We posted a good round, a couple other teams with pretty low today, put in golf that’s completely out of our control. My blood pressure would greatly appreciate having fewer four footers for par, but the guys did a good job of converting. We look forward to competing tomorrow morning and posting a good number on the final day.”

Jacob Pedersen (Jr., Minnetonka), Wyatt Wasko (So., Lake Elmo), and Andrew Hoppe (So., Mankato) are all tied in 10th individually. Pedersen with a 70 (-2), Wasko with a 73 (+1), and Hoppe with a 74 (+2) each have combined scores of 147 after two rounds. Tommy Hiniker (Fy., Edina) shot a 73 (+1) combined with yesterdays 80 to rank 26th. Sam Skaar (Jr., Bovey) finished the day scoring 80 (+7) after shooting a 79 in his last round for a combined score of 159.
